Krsna’s plan!

As Asvattāma asked Krpa about what happened to his father Drona, with great anguish Krpa said: My dear Asvattāma, your father was killed by Dhrishtadyumna. Knowing Drona to be invincible as long as he would wield his weapons, Sri Krsna ordered Yudhisthira to falsely inform him of your death. When your father heard this shocking news, he put down his weapons. Seeing this Dhrishta rushed at him brandishing his sword. All the Pāndava warriors forbade him, and Arjun rushed towards him with upraised arms, pleading: Do not kill our Preceptor. Bring him to us alive, but despite this Dhrishta beheaded Drona as he sat in meditation

Hearing this, Asvattāma became mad with rage. While wringing his hands & grinding his teeth, he told Duryodhana: O King, no one should lament for my father’s death, for he has certainly attained a very exalted destination. Still, I cannot tolerate the fact that Dhrishtadyumna seized my father by the hair. I thus hereby vow to destroy the entire Pāndava army this very day with my Nārayana weapon, which is unknown to them

Once, long ago Lord Nārayana assumed the form of a Brāhmana & approached my father. Drona worshiped the Brāhmana with great respect & gave him many things in charity. At this time Lord Nārayana offered my father benediction and so he asked for His special Nārayana weapon, which is supreme over all others

After handing the weapon to my father, the Lord explained: My dear Brāhmana, even those who are otherwise unslayable can be killed by his invincible weapon, but if it is used without proper justification, or against an inferior enemy, or against one who has put down his weapons, it will return to afflict the one who has employed it

Upon hearing Asvattāma’s terrible vow, the Kaurava warriors became very eager to resume fighting & so they roared with great enthusiasm. When the Pāndavās heard the Kauravas’ bold shouts, they began speculating about the cause

Meanwhile, Asvattāma touched water for purification & then invoked the Narayan weapon. Immediately, violent winds began to blow, the entire earth trembled & the seas swelled with agitation. Darkness set in, causing everyone to become afraid. In this situation, Maharaj Yudhisthira saw the Kaurava army rushing to battle, even though just previously they had panicked & fled. Being puzzle, Yudhisthira inquired: Dear Arjun, who is it that has miraculously rallied the Kaurava army?

Arjun replied: Dear brother, you can be certain that this was done by Asvattāma in retaliation for Dhrishtadyumna cruel act of mercilessly killing his father. The enraged son of Drona will certainly avenge your act of sinfully lying to your guru for the sake of gaining worldly kingdom. Indeed, this cowardly act of yours will surely earn you eternal infamy

We can speculate and try to justify the unjustifiable, but what is endorsed by the Supreme Lord is what is ordained. Krsna says to Arjun in Bhagvad Gita:

tasmat tvam uttistha yaso labhasva jitva satrun bhunksva rajyam samrddham
mayaivaite nihatah purvam eva nimitta-matram bhava savya-sacin

Therefore, get up and prepare to fight. After conquering your enemies, you will enjoy a flourishing kingdom. They are already put to death by My arrangement, and you, O Savyasacin, can be but an instrument in the fight

The whole world is moving according to the plan of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Foolish persons who do not have sufficient knowledge think that nature is moving without a plan and all manifestations are but accidental formations

Do we think the same? Thoughts?
