No fall downs!

Sri Krsna further said to Satyaki: As long as Karna possessed the means for killing Arjun, I could never sleep properly at night, nor could I enjoy anything peacefully. I don’t consider the lives of My father, mother, or even My own life to be as worthy of protection as that of Arjun. In fact, I could not even think of enjoying the kingdom of the three worlds without Arjun’s association. For this reason, I was overjoyed when Ghatotkaca was killed by Indra’s infallible dart. It was for Arjun’s sake alone that I had sent the Rāksasa against Karna

After Ghatotkaca was killed, the Kaurava warriors roared with great delight and then rushed at the Pāndava army, creating a great slaughter. When Maharaj Yudhisthira saw that his army was being massacred, he became depressed & ordered Bhima to drive back the enemy. After Bhima departed, Yudhisthira sat down morosely upon his chariot, his eyes filled with tears

Sri Krsna came to him & said: Dear King, pls give up your grief, for it is detrimental to your cause

Yudhisthira replied: O Krsna! I had more affection for Ghatotkaca than for my own brothers, because he had unflinchingly rendered service to us during our exile. Day after day he unbegrudgingly carried us on his back through inaccessible regions. First Abhimanyu was killed after all of us were checked, and now Ghatotkaca has been slain in the presence of Arjun. It was a big mistake to have made such a great endeavour to kill Jayadratha. Our real business should be to kill Drona & Karna. They are the big stumbling blocks on our path to victory. If we had all together attacked them, I am sure that Ghatotkaca would still be alive

As he continued to lament very bitterly, Yudhisthira gradually worked himself up into a fit of rage. With great agitation he vowed, I will go now & personally kill Karna!

After saying this, Maharaj Yudhisthira blew his mighty conch shell & set out on his chariot. Shikhandi followed Yudhisthira with an army of Pāncāla warriors. Sri Krsna urged Arjun to also go & help the king, knowing him to be an unsuitable match for Karna

As Yudhisthira was going, Vyāsdev suddenly appeared to him & said: My dear Grandson, you should not lament for the death of Ghatotkaca. If he had not been killed by Karna’s invincible dart, you would have had to lament much more, after the death of Arjun. Do not become discouraged, for I can assure you that on the fifth day from today you will finally regain your lost kingdom. After saying this Vyāsdev disappeared from view & by hearing these words, Yudhisthira gave up his determination to personally kill Karna

If we are surrendered to the Supreme Lord, whatever happens in our life is by the mercy of the Lord. Even when we face minor failures, that becomes the launching pad for future success. Sri Krsna says:

kṣipraṁ bhavati dharmātmā śaśvac-chāntiṁ nigacchati
kaunteya pratijānīhi na me bhaktaḥ praṇaśyati

He quickly becomes righteous and attains lasting peace. O son of Kuntī, declare it boldly that My devotee never perishes

One who is engaged in mischievous activities cannot become a devotee of the Lord. One who is not a devotee of the Lord has no good qualifications whatsoever. A devotee who is engaged in the nine kinds of devotional activities is engaged in the process of cleansing all material contamination from the heart. He puts the Supreme Personality of Godhead within his heart, and all sinful contaminations are naturally washed away. Continuous thinking of the Supreme Lord makes him pure by nature

Chanting the names of the Lord protects a devotee from all accidental fall downs. He will thus remain perpetually free from all material contaminations
