Bravery!

As Abhimanyu entered “Chakravyuh” formation, a fierce battle followed. He suddenly penetrated enemy ranks & so all Kaurava warriors joyfully surrounded him & released showers of arrows. Abhimanyu blazed up like fire & began consuming Kaurava soldiers as if they were heaps of dry grass. Ranging throughout enemy ranks, he caused entire battlefield to become strewn with innumerable severed limbs & heads, piles of smashed armour, weapons & countless broken chariots

While witnessing Abhimanyu’s superhuman prowess, hair of all Kaurava soldiers stood on end & in panic they began fleeing. Duryodhana couldn't tolerate this & so he angrily rushed to check Abhimanyu. Drona ordered all his leading chariot warriors to assist Kaurava king & thus Abhimanyu was soon surrounded. Amazingly, Abhimanyu not only fearlessly checked all great Kaurava warriors with his torrents of arrows, but also pierced Karna so deeply that his entire body became paralysed while trembling violently

When Salya came nearby, Abhimanyu attacked him so violently that he fainted on his chariot. Seeing this, entire Kaurava army fearfully retreated in the very presence of their commanders. Salya’s younger brother then rushed at Abhimanyu, for revenge but was quickly deprived of his head by Arjuna’s heroic son

As Abhimanyu continued to oppress Kaurava army, Drona went to Krpa & praised the young hero very highly. Duryodhana overheard this and said to Karna & others who were staying nearby: How lamentable it is that because Drona refuses to fight with the son of his dear disciple, our soldiers are being slaughtered in great numbers. Indeed, it is only because of our Preceptor’s leniency that Abhimanyu is still alive. Due to this, I want all of you to attack Abhimanyu & kill him before he consumes our entire army

In response, Dushasana vowed to kill Abhimanyu & led a massive attack on Subhadra’s son. Thereafter, when Abhimanyu saw enraged Dushasana approaching, he challenged: O wretched son of Dhritrāshtra, I will now repay my debt to the Pandavas by properly rewarding you for all your previous harsh words & wicked deeds

After saying this, Abhimanyu released a powerful arrow that penetrated Dushasana’s shoulder, right up to the feathers. As Abhimanyu continued to pierce him with more arrows, Dushasana fell unconscious on his chariot & so his driver quickly took him away from battlefield

When we are convinced that a particular course of action is aligned to higher cause, it gives us inner fulfilment & leads to outer achievement too. But it also happens that our mind may play spoilsport by creating doubts

We need to use our intelligence & persuade mind to be onboard with us. If need arises we push ourselves despite mind's hesitation to move forward, to break the barrier. We need to trump this inner battle against mind rather than become subservient to its shrills & screams

Let’s play against mind’s fluctuating emotional push. This is bravery
