A devotee is always protected!

 

Duryodhana was depressed because of the death of his brothers. He sat silently for a long time, shedding tears of grief while absorbed in contemplation on the day’s events

 

Meanwhile, in Hastinapur, Dhritrāshtra inquired: My dear Sanjay, how is it that the Pāndavās are able to repeatedly vanquish my son’s mighty army? What austerities did they perform & what benedictions did they receive because of those austerities? Destiny is dealing me a heavy blow, for the extermination of my sons is certainly at hand

 

Sanjay replied: O King! You should not be surprised to hear how the Pāndavās are defeating your sons & their allies. Not only are they powerful warriors, but they are highly virtuous. Victory always takes the side of the righteous. Your sons are destined to be vanquished because they are so wicked and cruel. They are now reaping the harvest of their previous sinful acts

 

On the 4th night of the great battle, your son Duryodhana approached Bhisma with the same thoughts that you are now disclosing. Pls listen as I continue narrating the events that took place at the holy pilgrimage, Kurukshetra

 

Duryodhana inquired: My dear Grandfather, how is it possible that the Pāndavās repeatedly vanquish the great Kuru heroes, who are capable of withstanding the onslaught of the entire population of the 3 worlds?

 

Bhisma replied: O King! Do you not remember how you were repeatedly advised to make peace with the Pāndavās? Even now it is not too late, for if you regret your past mistakes, peace can still be negotiated

 

Dear Duryodhana, it is impossible to kill the Pāndavās because they are under the protection of Sri Krsna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is frequently referred to in the Vedas & Upanishads as Tat. Lord Brahmā had requested Lord Vishnu to appear on earth to annihilate the demons that had taken birth in human society after having been killed in battle by the demigods

 

Even though the Supreme Lord appears in a human-like form, He remains unchanged as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, full of unlimited potencies. Thus Sri Krsna should never be disrespected, or considered to be a mere human being. Lord Vishnu appeared in the Yadu dynasty as Sri Krsna & Aruna is His eternal associate. You were repeatedly forbidden to fight against the Supreme Lord & yet you stubbornly disregarded the advice. Because of this, I consider you no better than a wicked Rākshasā

 

Who else but you can hate the Supreme Lord & His devotees? Success always resides with Sri Krsna. Because He is now supporting the Pāndavās, there is absolute certainty that they will come out victorious

 

Krsna says:

kṣipraṁ bhavati dharmātmā śaśvac-chāntiṁ nigacchati
kaunteya pratijānīhi na me bhaktaḥ praṇaśyati

 

He quickly becomes righteous and attains lasting peace. O son of Kuntī, declare it boldly that My devotee never perishes

 

Sanjay also confirms:

yatra yogeśvaraḥ kṛṣṇo yatra pārtho dhanur-dharaḥ
tatra śrīr vijayo bhūtir dhruvā nītir matir mama

Wherever there is Kṛṣṇa, the master of all mystics, and wherever there is Arjuna, the supreme archer, there will also certainly be opulence, victory, extraordinary power, and morality. That is my opinion

 

Let us all become pure devotees of the Lord & our well being will always be preserved

Emotions! As R āksasās led by Ghatotkaca attacked, only Asvattāma remained firm & dispelled their illusions. Ghatotkaca rushed at Asvattāma, but the son of Drona drove him back with a forceful stream of arrows. The son of Ghatotkaca, named Anjanaparva joined the fray, showering his arrows upon Asvattāma, but Drona’s son quickly retaliated by knocking down his flag, killing his two drivers, breaking his bow & at last killing his horses   Anjanaparva flew into the sky & began showering trees upon Asvattāma.   Emotional outburst – It hurts!   Hearing Bhima’s roar, all Pāndava warriors triumphantly blew conch shells & shouted with joy. Duryodhana went to Drona on a swift chariot.
