TEAM Strength!

Day 2 of Mahabharata war started

Maharāj Yudhisthira ordered Dhrishtadyumna to arrange Pāndava army in Kraunca formation. As both sides awaited rising of the Sun, all warriors blew conch-shell in anticipation of day’s encounter. Duryodhana urged his army to attack so that battle soon raged

From beginning Bhisma routed Pāndava forces. Arjun thus ordered Sri Krsna to take him where the Grandsire was staying. Many warriors came to support both, Arjun & Bhisma & so a great battle took place. This time Arjun predominated, creating a great slaughter in Kaurava ranks

At last, Duryodhana approached Bhisma & said: Dear Grandfather, it is only because of you that my well-wisher Karna desisted from battle. So, in his absence, it behooves you to find means for killing Arjun. Being thus prodded, Bhisma exclaimed: To hell with Kshatriya profession & departed to encounter Arjun. Thereafter, Bhisma & Arjun showered arrows on one another while skillfully counteracting each other’s assault

Bhisma pierced Sri Krsna in chest with 3 arrows & so Arjun responded by angrily striking Bhism’s chariot driver with 3 arrows. In this great duel no difference in ability could be distinguished between them. From the sky the demigods exclaimed: Neither Bhisma nor Arjun is capable of killing one another

Meanwhile, Drona & Dhrishtadyumna fiercely fought with equal skill. Drone broke Dhrista’s bow & killed his horses and driver. Dhrista picked up a mace & got down from his disabled chariot. And yet, before he could even step onto the ground, Drona shattered his mace to pieces. Enraged, Dhrista drew his sword & rushed impetuously, but Drona checked him with shower of arrows. Bhima came & took Dhrista on his chariot

Duryodhana ordered King of Kalinga to attack Bhima & so Drona left off fighting with Dhrishtadyumna and approached Virāt and Drupada. Soon Bhima became surrounded by 1000’s of chariots belonging to Srutāyu & the King of Kalinga, as well as 10000 elephant warriors belonging to Ketumal, the son of Nishāda king. But with the help of Matsyas, Cedi & Karusas, Bhima attacked his assailants so fiercely that the battlefield soon took on appearance of an expansive graveyard

Sakradeva, son of Kalinga king, managed to Kill Bhima’s horses. But as he proceeded to rush at him, Bhima hurled his mighty mace, smashing him to death. When Kalinga king saw his son dead, he surrounded Bhima with his entire army. At this Bhima assumed a ferocious form, possessing superhuman prowess. After picking a great sword, he went on a rampage, killing an entire division of infantry, cavalry, elephant & chariot warriors

Comparing & teasing one member of the team against another is a bad strategy. All members have their own strengths & working together shares the strengths & skill sets within the team. Their strengths should not be positioned against but with each other

The strength of each team is its individual member & the strength of each member is the entire team
