Māyā!

Krsna continued speaking to Arjun: I am the Supreme enjoyer, the Supreme proprietor & the best well-wishing friend of everyone. One who knows Me as such never has to accept birth again within this material world

bhoktāraṁ yajña-tapasāṁ sarva-loka-maheśvaram
suhṛdaṁ sarva-bhūtānāṁ jñātvā māṁ śāntim ṛcchati

O descendant of Bhārata, whatever you can see within this universe is a manifestation of My superior & inferior energies, for there is nothing that exists outside of Me. And yet, although I am in one sense everything, I remain distinct as the origin & support of all manifestations. The ultimate goal of life is to fully surrender to Me & work under My direction, or that of My representative. This is the path of unalloyed Bhakti Yoga. All other processes, such as Karma-Yoga, Jnāna-Yoga, Astānga-Yoga are different rungs on the Yoga ladder

The complete perfection, which is attained by full surrender to Me, is possible only when one realizes My presence in every sphere of existence & thus sees that there is nothing separate from Me

yoginām api sarveṣāṁ mad-gatenāntar-ātmanā
śraddhāvān bhajate yo māṁ sa me yukta-tamo mataḥ

My dear Arjun, I am the taste of water, the light of the Sun & Moon, and ability in man. It is I who have become Lord Brahmā & Lord Siva. Om is My sound representation. I am the source of all pervading brahmajyoti & Lord Vishnu is my plenary expansion. Indeed, all wonderful & beautiful manifestations in this world spring from but a tiny spark of My unlimited splendor

raso ’ham apsu kaunteya prabhāsmi śaśi-sūryayoḥ
praṇavaḥ sarva-vedeṣu śabdaḥ khe pauruṣaṁ nṛṣu

Arjun said: My dear Lord, pls reveal to me Your Universal Form so that I can see how You have entered into everything. Of course, I am satisfied simply to hear of Your glories, but at the same time I wish that all persons, now & in the future, can understand what it really means to be God

Being so requested, Sri Krsna first gave Arjun divine eyes. Thereafter, He displayed His universal form, with its unlimited heads, arms, bellies & legs, and its brilliance surpassing millions of suns. Arjun could see Lord Brahmā & Lord Siva in that wonderful cosmic form, as well as the other demigods, demons, Nagas, Gandharvas, human beings & animals. He could see the sons of Dhritrāshtra, along with Bhisma, Drona & the other great warriors, entering the fiery mouths of that universal form

divi sūrya-sahasrasya bhaved yugapad utthitā
yadi bhāḥ sadṛśī sā syād bhāsas tasya mahātmanaḥ

Everyone has to understand this fact, that we are not proprietors. Proprietor is only Sri Kṛṣṇa. Hence there is no basis of developing false ego of proprietorship for anything or everything

We identify ourselves with our body & we feel like we are the possessor of things. This is the root cause of all our problems. Janasya moho 'yam ahaṁ mameti. This is called Māyā
