Surrender!

Dhritrāshtra said: Duryodhana, you should not covet the kingdom when your father was denied it. You have no right to claim possession of royal throne. You are unrighteously attempting to usurp it from Yudhisthira, who is qualified in all respects. Son, you should at least give back half the kingdom to Pāndavās. In this way you can go on living very happily & prosperously

Sri Krsna said: Despite such strong words from his father, mother & other elders, Duryodhana did not be budge from his obstinate determination to become unrivaled ruler of earth. On the contrary, while hearing their good advice, he became very angry & with eyes red with rage got up from his seat & stormed out of the assembly, followed by his brothers & allies

Duryodhana has ordered his army to march to Kurukshetra, with Bhisma at its helm. As an expert diplomat I had first tried to apply the art of conciliation by stressing to Duryodhana advantages of allying himself with you. When that failed, I tried to create dissension amongst Kurus by speaking in various ways. But when that also proved unsuccessful, I proposed that peace could be established if you were given just a paltry 5 villages to rule. Because even that was not acceptable to Duryodhana, only recourse is chastisement

After hearing from Krsna about failure of Hastinapur peace talks, Yudhisthira appointed Drupada, Virata, Sikhandi, Dhrstadyumna, Satyaki, Cekitana and Bhima as commanders of his seven akshauni divisions of soldiers. Then, beginning with Sahadev, Yudhisthira asked for advice about who should be installed as commander in-chief. Sahadeva favored Virata & Nakul suggested Drupada. Arjuna recommended Dhrstadyumna & Bhima favored Sikhandi

Maharaja Yudhisthira said: My dear brothers, let Sri Krsna make this most important decision, for He is our only shelter. In fact, He is the one who ultimately sanctions all affairs within universe. Night approaches & so tomorrow morning, having selected our leader and after worshiping our weapons with offerings of flowers and perfumes, we will depart

Being so invited, Sri Krsna said: Dear sons of Pandu, all the great warriors you nominated are certainly qualified to command our forces. Still, My personal preference is Dhrstyadyumna. All assembled kings happily accepted Krsna’s choice & they responded with a resounding cheer. The leading warriors then began to arrange their armies with great enthusiasm. Next morning, they departed for Kurukshetra after giving profuse charity of cows & gold to brahmanas

When we surrender ourselves at the lotus feet of the Supreme Lord, then all our worries are His. Here Sri Krsna even became a messenger for Pāndavās and a charioteer to Arjun

Krsna says is Gita

ananyāś cintayanto māṁ ye janāḥ paryupāsate

teṣāṁ nityābhiyuktānāṁ yoga-kṣemaṁ vahāmy aham

But those who always worship Me with exclusive devotion, meditating on My transcendental form – to them I carry what they lack, and I preserve what they have

Do we?
