Self-assessment!

UIuka took Maharaja Yudhisthira’s permission & departed. When he reached the Kaurava camp, he related to Duryodhana all that was said by the Pandavas & Sri Krsna. After hearing the Pandavas' messages, Duryodhana ordered his army to get ready so that the battle could begin early next morning

Similarly, on Pāndava side, Dhrishtadyumna prepared the army so that it would be ready to begin fighting the next day. Duryodhana went to Bhisma and asked him to estimate the relative strengths of the great warriors on both sides. Bhisma responded with a long list of warriors & their ratings. While doing so, he said:  Krtavarrna, Salya, Bahlika, Drona & Asvatthama are ati-rathas, whereas Satyavan, Alambusa and Vrsasena (the son of Karna) are maha-rathis. Karna is a foolish braggart who will surely be vanquished by Arjuna, and thus I consider him to be just half of a ratha

Drona confirmed this by saying: Karna frequently retreated from battle and so I accept this as a truthful assessment of his worth.

Having overheard these insulting words, Karna angrily replied: O Grandsire, you are our enemy in disguise, and it is for this reason you are trying to disunite us on the eve of battle

Turning to Duryodhana, Karna said: O King, you should discard Bhisma. If he implants any doubt of victory in the hearts of our warriors, it will be very difficult to unite them so that they enthusiastically fight with the enemy. Bhisma has become senile & so there is no need either for him, nor his estimation of the warriors' prowess. My dear Duryodhana, do not hesitate to discard the Grandsire, for I can single-handedly contend with the Pāndava army

Bhisma replied: O Karna, it is you who speak in such a way as to create disharmony. Even though I have been selected as the commander-in-chief of the Kaurava army, you are trying to discredit me

At this point Duryodhana intervened and he managed to pacify Bhisma and Karna by praising them both very highly. Getting back to the matter at hand, he requested: My dear Bhisma, please tell me about the warriors on the Pāndava side

When someone analyses our worth, whether it is to our expectation or to the contrary, we always should reflect upon the viewpoint and do an internal assessment of our true worth. It will be counter productive to not introspect & discard other’s feedback if it is not up to our presumption

Without proper self-evaluation, failure is inevitable. An honest assessment of differing viewpoints gives indication of where we are
