Boasting!

Prince Rukmi came to Pandavas’s camp and was welcomed by Maharaj Yudhisthira. Later, when all the kings had assembled, Rukmi confidently approached Arjuna and declared: If you and your brothers are at all fearful about fighting with the Kurus, please give up your anxiety, for I have come here to assist you. I have become the most powerful warrior on earth. If you like, everyone else can stand aside as spectators while I single-handedly vanquish the enemy and hand over the kingdom to Yudhisthira

Upon hearing these boasting words, Arjuna smilingly looked at Yudhisthira and Krsna, He then replied in a friendly tone of voice:  My dear Rukmi, I am not at all afraid, for I have my Gandiva bow and Sri Krsna is my ally. You must have heard of how I had defeated the Gandharvas, how I had exterminated millions of Danavas, and how I had vanquished the Kurus at Virata’s kingdom. Considering all this, why should I be afraid? My dear Rukmi, we do not need your assistance and so it is up to you whether you want to stay or go

Being slighted in this way, Rukmi angrily departed. Next, he went to the Kauravas' camp. There, he boasted in a similar way before Duryodhana and the other assembled kings and in the same way he was neglected. Because of this, Rukmi left Kurukshetra and did not take part in the battle

Meanwhile, back in Hastinapura, Dhritarashtra called for Sanjaya and requested: Please tell me what is taking place in the two military camps. I knew all along that this calamity would come upon me and yet, because of the inevitable course of Destiny I could not avert this terrible war by endeavoring to control my deceitful son. Whenever I tried to confront Duryodhana, my understanding turned away from the path of righteousness by his influence.

Sanjaya replied: O King, you should not place the entire blame for this impending war upon Duryodhana, nor should you attribute the cause simply to Destiny. Please listen as I tell you what happened when your son and his allies reached Kurukshetra.  First, Duryodhana called for UIuka and had him carry this message to the Pandavas: O Yudhisthira, how can you follow an unrighteous path that will make you the destroyer of the earth's population? Aren't you reputed to be the protector of all living entities?

Boastful people should never be part of a team. When people boast about how successful they are or how awesome their life is, it just shows their insecurities

Our false ego prompts us to boast of vain assertions to obtain glories of this world & have control over others. Such attitude is a big TEAM breaker and should not be allowed under any circumstances despite how strong or skillful the person may be
