Ability!

All the assembled kings applauded Lord Krsna’s reasonable words, but still no one dared to speak out against Duryodhana in his presence. When he saw how everyone was too timid to reply, Parasurāma, who was sseated amongst the sages said: Dear Duryodhana, you should give up your false pride & make peace with Arjun, for he is none other than Nara & Krsna is Nārayana. I can assure you that they are unconquerable & that you’ll be defeated if you darefight against them

Rsi Kanva said: Amongst the Adityās, only Lord Visnu is eternal & unconquerable. All the others such as Sun & Moon, are destroyed when the universe is annihilated. Still, in comparison with the lives of these demigods, human life is flickering. O King! Since our future life depends upon the acts we perform during this brief span of human existence, I advise you to make peace with Pāndavās

You should not be proud of your strength, for you’ll always find that there is someone more powerful, like Arjun, who is equal in prowess to the demigods. In this regard, I will tell you a story

Once, long ago, Garuda & Indra had some disagreement. Having become excessively proud of his strength, in the very presence of Lord Vishnu, Garuda exclaimed: Oh! My misfortune is due to my own fault. Even though I’m the most powerful being in the universe, I voluntarily became the servant of another. O Indra! I can understand that you neglect me because I act as carrier of your younger brother Lord Vishnu!

Turning to Lord Visnu! Garuda said: My dear brother (both being sons of Kasyapa & 2 daughters of Daksa), You are certainly more powerful than Indra, but since I’m able to effortlessly carry You with just one of my feathers, You should truthfully judge which of us is superior in prowess

To further provoke proud Garuda, Sri Visnu replied: You weakling! Why do you necessarily consider yourself so strong!? It is I alone who carries both your weight & Mine. Let us find out if your boasting is justified or not! See if you can bear the weight of My right arm

Sri Visnu then rested His right arm on Garuda’s shoulder. Immediately the giant bird fell to the ground, almost bereft of consciousness. Gasping for breath, his feathers falling off & his limbs without strength, Garuda helplessly bowed down before Lord Visnu

With a feeble voice, he prayed: O Supreme Lord, it is You who are the unlimitedly powerful Lord of all creatures. How foolish I was for ignorantly misunderstanding Your supreme position. Pls forgive me formy impudence & let me once again engage in Your devotional service without false pride

Our strength only comes from the Supreme Lord Krsna. He says

raso ’ham apsu kaunteya prabhāsmi śaśi-sūryayoḥ
praṇavaḥ sarva-vedeṣu śabdaḥ khe pauruṣaṁ nṛṣu

O son of Kuntī, I am the taste of water, the light of the sun and the moon, the syllable oṁ in the Vedic mantras; I am the sound in ether and ability in man

Lord is all-pervasive by His diverse material & spiritual energies. Whatever abilities we humans have is due to the Supreme Lord only. Hence, the jurisdiction of Kṛṣṇa consciousness extends everywhere, and one who knows Him is blessed. Those who do not know Kṛṣṇa are in illusion, and so knowledge of Kṛṣṇa is liberation, and ignorance of Him is bondage
