Learning!

Entire night passed as Dhritrāshtra & Vidura conversed with Sanat-Kumāra. Next morning, all Kurus assembled in royal court to hear Sanjaya relay Pāndavās’ message. The royal hall was spotlessly white, with golden floor sprinkled with sandalwood-scented water. The seats were made of marble, wood, ivory & gold, covered with most valuable embroidered cloths. All great kings headed by Dhritrāshtra came there carrying their weapons, the hall soon appeared like a great mountain cave covered with ferocious lions

Sanjay entered the hall & offered respects to all elderly Kurus on behalf of Pāndavās. Dhritrāshtra was very anxious to hear what Arjun had said & urged Sanjay to relate his words, who said: O King! Arjun’s message received the sanctions of both Maharāj Yudhisthira & Lord Krsna. After hearing it, you’ll understand how anxious he is to fight. He has instructed me to relay his message to Duryodhana in presence of all Kurus, including wicked Karna

Message is: If Dhritrāshtra’s son doesn’t surrender to Yudhisthira his rightful share of kingdom, it must be understood that in past he has performed some horrible sin for which he has not yet reaped results. If Duryodhana desires to fight, the uncomfortable bed that we had to lie upon during our exile will become even more painful for him when he is forced to lay on the ground fatally wounded.

Arjun said: You can assure Duryodhana that when he finally meets our long-held wrath, he’ll repent for his deceitful behavior. One morning, after I’d finished my bath & prayers, a Brāhmanā approached me & said: O son of Kunti! You’ll have to perform a very difficult task when time comes for you to fight with your enemies. Hence, it is being arranged that either Indra will visibly ride in front of you, thunderbolt in hand or else Sri Krsna will protect you from behind while riding on his chariot

I told Brāhmanā: I prefer to have Sri Krsna as my ally, for He is the Supreme Personality of Godhead & thus the possessor of all potencies. He has already displayed his unlimited prowess by killing numerous demons such as Putanā, Trnāvarta, Bakāsura & evil king Kamsā. Hearing my words, Brāhmanā disappeared mysteriously from sight. Is it possible that demoniac Duryodhana imagines that he can vanquish imperishable Lord Vishnu in battle?

Only if Duryodhana comes to his senses& accepts a peaceful settlement will the Kauravas be spared. Otherwise, if he insists upon war, I’m prepared to single-handedly vanquish all the Kurus & deliver the kingdom to Maharāj Yudhisthira

I’m confident of this because of Lord Krsna, the perfect knower of past, present & future, has assured me of victory

Whatever skills we have is given to us by the Supreme Lord. If we are only dependent upon him & follow his words, we are empowered to overcome any & every difficulty we may face in our lives

Krsna says:

ahaṁ sarvasya prabhavo mattaḥ sarvaṁ pravartate
iti matvā bhajante māṁ budhā bhāva-samanvitāḥ

I am the source of all spiritual and material worlds. Everything emanates from Me. The wise who perfectly know this engage in My devotional service and worship Me with all their hearts

Kṛṣṇa is the source of all generations, and He is called the most efficient cause of everything. A Kṛṣṇa conscious person is a truly learned man
