Faith!


After Sanjay relayed the message from Lord Krsna in Kuru assembly, silence fell over the hall. Duryodhana hardly paid attention to it but the assembled kings departed aggrieved. Dhritrāshtra called Sanjay in private & enquired: Pls tell me honestly what you feel. After appraising the strength of both the Pāndavās army & that of my son, which side do you think will perish if there is war?


Sanjay replied: My dear King! I’ll not answer this question in private, for if I did, you would surely bear a grudge against me. If you call Gāndhari & Vyāsdeva, I will disclose everything, for I’m confident that they will confirm my statements


Dhritrāshtra ordered Vidura to summon Vyāsdev & Gāndhari, & soon they arrived along with Duryodhana. Thereafter, at Vyāsdev’s urging, Sanjay spoke the truth about Krsna & Arjun: Lord Krsna & His eternal associate, Arjun have appeared on earth, by their own free will, to execute their mission


My dear King! You should know that if the entire universe were placed on one side of a scale & Lord Krsna on other, Krsna would be heavier. Indeed, if He so desires, He can reduce entire universe to mere ashes in a moment. Similarly, if all the living beings within the universe were to attack Krsna simultaneously, they could not vanquish Him. He is the Supreme Controller & so whatever He desires will automatically be executed by His Energies


Krsna is the Supreme Soul within the hearts of all living beings & He is the master of the Sun & Moon. Making Pāndavās His instruments, the Lord desires to kill your wicked sons, for by doing so He will accomplish His mission of relieving earth’s burden


Dhritrāshtra asked: How is it that you know so confidently that Krsna is the Supreme Lord of the universe, whereas I don’t have such firm faith?


Sanjay said: Due to the influence of gross ignorance, you lack faith. Because of this, you cannot understand Krsna as He is


Dhritrāshtra asked: What is the nature of faith that is required for understanding Krsna’s supreme position?


Sanjay said: Having given up all attachment to the illusory happiness of material existence, my heart has become purified. It is for this reason that I can understand the position of Lord Krsna when I see through the eyes of Sāstra (scriptures)


Krsna says in Bhagvad Gita:

avajananti mam mudha manusim tanum asritam

param bhavam ajananto mama bhuta-mahesvaram


Fools deride Me when I descend in the human form. They do not know My transcendental nature and My supreme dominion over all that be


Do we have unflinching faith in the Supreme Lord? Let’s develop it thro’ the eyes of our scriptures

  Make or break!   When Salya agreed to drive Karna’s chariot only on condition that he must be allowed to speak freely whatever he likes, Duryodhana and Karna readily agreed & thus a contract was made.   Krsna’s plan!   As Asvattāma asked Krpa about what happened to his father Drona, with great anguish Krpa said: My dear Asvattāma, your father was killed by Dhrishtadyumna. Knowing Drona to be invincible as long as he would wield his weapons, Sri Krsna ordered Yudhisthira to falsely inform him of your death.
