Are we deluded?

As Duryodhana suggested to downplay Lord Krsna’s visit to Hastinapur, Bhisma argued: Dear Dhritrāshtra! You should receive the Lord with greatest respect & be ready to execute whatever instructions He may give. Because Krsna’s will is infallible, it behooves you to follow it voluntarily. If you disobey Krsna, you’ll have to suffer the consequences & thus end up lamenting the rest of your life

Duryodhana said: We cannot follow Krsna’s advice, for I’m unwilling to go through’ life sharing my kingdom with the Pāndavās. Pls listen as I now disclose to you the plan I have devised. When Krsna arrives tomorrow, we will take Him captive and hold Him as our prisoner. When the Pāndavās and the Vrsnis hear of this, they will have no alternative but to surrender to us

There was a stunned silence!

This crazy idea was very painful for Dhritrāshtra to hear. Becoming very agitated he implored: My foolish son! Never dare mention such a thing again! Krsna is coming here as an ambassador, and He is our relative. Krsna has never done you nor any of us any harm and so He does not deserve such a treatment

Bhisma was outraged, listening to Duryodhana’s demoniac scheme. With great anger he chastised Dhritrāshtra saying: Your son’s hour of doom has surely arrived, and yet you are such a fool that you refuse to restrain him. Don’t you know that Lord can destroy all of us in a moment if He so desires? I am not going to remain here one minute longer & thus hear what your wretched son has to say!

Having said this, Bhisma got up from his seat & stormed out of the assembly

As we evolve in our spiritual understanding and understand the true meaning of our existence, we realize that Sri Krsna is the Supreme reality and taking shelter of Him is the best way to protect our consciousness from Life’s upheavals. Knowing Him is the best learning and with that we begin to love Him more (rather than compete or be envious with Him)

Krsna says

bahūnāṁ janmanām ante jñānavān māṁ prapadyate

vāsudevaḥ sarvam iti sa mahātmā su-durlabhaḥ

After many births and deaths, he who is actually in knowledge surrenders unto Me, knowing Me to be the cause of all causes and all that is. Such a great soul is very rare

When one understands that Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa’s mercy is everything, that He is the cause of all causes, and that this material manifestation is not independent from Him, one realizes the material world to be a perverted reflection of spiritual variegatedness and realizes that in everything there is a relationship with the Supreme Lord Kṛṣṇa

Thus, one thinks of everything in relation to Vāsudeva, or Śrī Kṛṣṇa. Such a universal vision of Vāsudeva precipitates one’s full surrender to the Supreme Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa as the highest goal. Such surrendered great souls are very rare

Are we the one? Or else we are deluded by false ego
