Kaurav warriors saw Brhannala running after Uttara, his long hair & red garments fluttering in breeze. Some laughed heartily but others appreciated the eunuch’s powerful bodily features & lion-like strides. They guessed that he must be Arjun, trying to call back terrified son of Virāta


While Kauravas were speculating, Arjun grabbed Uttara by hair, who begged: O Brhannala! Turn back. Only one who is living can attain prosperity. If you set me free, I'll give you gold coins, jewels, golden chariot & elephants. Pls let me go


Without even replying, Arjun laughingly dragged Uttara back to chariot. Uttara was practically mad with fear & so Arjun pacified him saying: If you’re too afraid to fight, then take reins & drive chariot while I battle Kurus. Know for certain that I’ll recover your cows after defeating enemies


Uttara regained some exposure & after getting into driver’s seat, was ordered by Arjuna to go where Pāndava’s weapons were concealed in a sami tree. When Kauravas saw Uttara driving chariot, they began to seriously suspect that eunuch was indeed Arjun & a dreadful fear entered their hearts


Drona could see evil omens visible as hot dry wind blew; sky had gloomy appearance & flags were trembling for no apparent reason. He said to assembled warriors: From these signs I understand that there will be great massacre. I’m convinced that the unknown warrior who has come to fight is none other than Arjun


Karna said harshly: O preceptor! Why do you always glorify Arjun? He is not even equal to 1/16th part of either me or Duryodhana


Duryodhana said: If this eunuch is actually Arjun, we’re very fortunate. Being discovered by us, the Pāndavās will have to spend another 12 years in exile


From sami tree, Arjun took his concealed weapons-which were effulgent. Astonished Uttara desired to hear about them. Arjun described his Gāndiva bow, which was first used by Lord Sivā & it remained in his possession for 1000 years. Then it was given to Lord Brahmā, who kept it for 500 years & then to Indra, who had it for 85 years. It was then passed to Soma, Varuna & finally handed to me 65 years ago when Agni burnt Khāndava forest


Uttara inquired:Brhannala, where are Pāndavās now?

Arjun then revealed his true identity to Uttara as well as those his brothers & Draupadi


Uttara said:I’ll believe this if you can recite Arjuna’s 10 names

He said: I’m called Arjun, Phalguna, Jisnu, Kiriti, Svetavāhana, Vibhatsu, Vijay, Krsna, Savyasachin & Dhananjaya


Uttara was delighted & his eyes were wide open seeing Arjun in front of him–the foremost warrior & archer of all worlds


Sometimes we all realize that something which is with us all the times & we don’t notice its value, looks ordinary but in fact is very precious. The value of something is known at the time of its need


We take so many people & things for granted.We don’t know their true value until they become a memory


Even a pebble is worth a diamond at an opportune time & vice versa

  Make or break!   When Salya agreed to drive Karna’s chariot only on condition that he must be allowed to speak freely whatever he likes, Duryodhana and Karna readily agreed & thus a contract was made. Duryodhana flattered Salya by comparing him to Lord Brahmā, who formerly became Shiva’s charioteer at the time of destroying Tripura   Duryodhana concluded his long talk by saying: Dear Salya, Parasurāma delivered the entire science of weapons to Karna. Grudge-The heaviest thing to hold! Asvattāma hurriedly yoked horses to his chariot & set out, as Krpa & Krtvarma anxiously followed him. He soon arrived at Pāndava camp & saw a gigantic being with enormous head with flames emanating from his eyes, nose, ear & mouth   Asvattāma fearlessly attacked that awesome being with his celestial weapons but failed in all his attempt. He thought to himself: Krpa had warned me that persons who don’t listen to their elders must lament later. The frustration of my attempt must be due to its inherently sinful nature.
