Dependence on Supreme!

 

Yaksa posed next questions & Maharaja Yudhisthira answered them all very concisely

 

Q: What is the king of knowledge?

A: The king of education is knowledge of the Supreme Personality of Godhead

Q: What is ignorance?

A: True ignorance consists of not knowing one’s constitutional position

 

Q: What is the best bath?

A: To cleanse the mind of all impurities

 

Q: What is real charity

A: Real charity towards others is to protect them from the onslaught of material nature

 

 

When we cleanse our mind of all impurities: lust, anger, greed, illusion, false pride & envy then we identify our real constitutional position of being servant of the Supreme Lord, his part & parcel. Simple truth is that we’re not able to do anything independently and are dependent on Supreme Lord’s will only

 

By using intelligence one can distinguish his self from the things that he sees. The natural conclusion is that the living being, either man or beast, is the seer and he sees besides himself all other things

 

Now by little use of intelligence we can also readily agree that the living being has no power to see or to move independently. All our ordinary actions & perceptions depend on various forms of energy supplied to us by nature

 

Our senses to perceive things:

1.     Ears for hearing

2.     Skin for touch

3.     Eyes for sight

4.     Tongue for taste

5.     Nostrils for smell

 

As well as our five senses of action:

1.     Hands

2.     Legs

3.     Speech

4.     Evacuation organs

5.     Reproduction organs

 

& our three subtle senses:

1.     Mind

2.     Intelligence

3.     Ego

 

Are all supplied to us by various arrangements of gross & subtle forms of natural energy.

 

This conclusively proves that the living being has no independent power of perception or of motion. That is why if these arrangements are hampered, one despite having that sense, cannot perform the function despite his best efforts

 

We all need to be aware of our dependence on the Supreme Lord and act in subordination of Him

  Make or break!   When Salya agreed to drive Karna’s chariot only on condition that he must be allowed to speak freely whatever he likes, Duryodhana and Karna readily agreed & thus a contract was made. Grudge-The heaviest thing to hold! Asvattāma hurriedly yoked horses to his chariot & set out, as Krpa & Krtvarma anxiously followed him. He soon arrived at Pāndava camp & saw a gigantic being with enormous head with flames emanating from his eyes, nose, ear & mouth   Asvattāma fearlessly attacked that awesome being with his celestial weapons but failed in all his attempt.
