Suffering!

As Bhima handed over Jayadratha, Yudhisthira smiled & said: My dear brother, you can now set him free

Bhima replied: First inform Draupadi that Jayadratha has become her slave

Yudhisthira said: If you have any regard for me at all, just release Jayadratha as I have ordered

Draupadi came & in deference to Yudhisthira’s feelings, also urged Bhima to release Jayadratha. Finally, when Bhima let him go, Jayadratha came & bowed down before Yudhisthira, who said: You’re free to go wherever you like, but let me warn you to never act in such an abominable way again

Jayadratha departed with his head hung down in shame. Going to shore of Gangā at place where it leaves mountains & begins to flow along plains, he began severe austerities for the purpose of gaining favor of Lord Siva, who mercifully appeared

Jayadratha begged: O best of demigods, kindly benedict me in such a way that I will one day be able to defeat all 5 Pāndavās in battle. Lord replied: My dear king! This is not possible for Pāndavās are invincible. However, I shall enable you to check them, with the exception of Arjun, at a very crucial time in a future war. Arjun is not an ordinary human being. He is Nara, the associate of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Nārayana. For this reason, I’m incapable of enabling you to impede him on battlefield

Dear Jayadratha! you’ve certainly pleased me with worship & austerities. But you should know that Lord Vishnu is the Supreme Lord above all others, including myself. Lord Krsna is original Vishnu, the cause of all causes & source of all incarnations within universe. He has appeared in Yadu dynasty & because He is friend & protector of Pāndavās, they’re unslayable. I’m also incarnation of Lord Vishnu & be assured that I’ll enable you to gain temporary victory over 4 Pāndavās & then attain exalted destination after death

After rescuing Draupadi, Pāndavās sat amongst exalted sages & Yudhisthira asked Mārkandeya Rsi: There is a doubt in my mind I would like you to dispel. Our dear wife Draupadi had a superhuman birth as she appeared directly from the sacrificial fire. And, throughout her entire life, she has been sinless. How then she is inflicted with so much misfortune? How could she have been carried away by wicked Jayadratha? I consider myself the root cause of all these sufferings

Rsi said: You should not feel sorry for yourself. Even Lord Vishnu in His human-like incarnation as Lord Rāmchandra had to suffer the miseries of exile to forest & the kidnapping of his wife by evil Rāvana

Mārkandeya Rasi is a great authority on the pastimes of Lord Rām & he narrated them to the Pāndavās. At the conclusion of his recitation, He urged Yudhisthira: Don’t become overly aggrieved due to your present condition. Rest assured that with the help of your allies, you’ll vanquish your enemies at the end of 13th year of your exile

Our birth on earth is full of suffering. We are all blissful in the spiritual world serving the Supreme Lord, but due to our desire to enjoy separately from him we fell down to material world and suffering

Krsna says

mām upetya punar janma duḥkhālayam aśāśvatam
nāpnuvanti mahātmānaḥ saṁsiddhiṁ paramāṁ gatāḥ

After attaining Me, the great souls, who are yogīs in devotion, never return to this temporary world, which is full of miseries, because they have attained the highest perfection

Let’s chant the name of the Lord & go back home, back to Godhead
