Don’t reinvent!
Duryodhana became pacified by assurances of demons & then his subtle body was carried back by the goddess to earth & placed within body that had remained seated as if fasting until death. He opened his eyes & it seemed that what he had experienced was a dream. He was now convinced he could defeat Pāndavās with Karna & Samsaptakas help
Thereafter Narkāsura possessed Karna so that he became more determined to kill Arjun, as did Samsaptakas who came under control of fierce Rāksasas. Bhisma, Drona & Krpa also came under influence of Dānavās & didn’t feel as affectionate towards Pāndavās as before. Duryodhana alone could understand what was happening & was careful not to disclose the secret to anyone
Next morning, Karna again went to try persuade Duryodhana to rise up & return to Hastināpur. He embraced him & said: don't be aggrieved for I promise to kill Arjun without fail & in his absence, Pāndavās would no longer be a stumbling block in your path of unrivaled sovereignty
Remembering words of demons, Duryodhana immediately got up & began to array his army. As he arrived back, Bhisma met him. When the grandfather heard about all that had taken place, he tried to give him some good advice: Dear Duryodhana! You should make peace with your cousins. Although you depend on Karna’s strength, you should know that he is not even equal to 1/4th of Pāndavās prowess
You already saw how Karna has to flee for his life from Gandharvas, whereas Arjun easily defeated them. How can you hope to become happy by creating enmity with Pāndavās? Duryodhana simply laughed at Bhismā’s words. Without even replying he arrogantly walked away from him, followed by Karna, Sakuni & Duhsasana. Bhisma certainly felt pained with this callous behavior & hanging his head in shame also departed
Karna turned to Duryodhana & said: Bhisma always speaks in favor of Pāndavās & in doing so he always criticizes me. I long to show old grandfather my real prowess. Pls grant me permission to go out & conquer all kings of the earth, just as Pāndavās had formerly done for the sake of their elder brother
Duryodhana was very pleased with Karna’s proposal & unhesitatingly gave his heartfelt blessings. Preparations were made & on an auspicious day abhisheka was performed by Brāhmanās as they sang Karna’s glories. Karna cheerfully set out, surrounded by a large army
The concept of Dharma is universal. It is what which sustains one’s nature & which makes one who he is. Dharmic principles are universal just as traffic rules are for all and even if one breaks it, it is not only harmful for him but is detrimental for all who are on the road
As we don’t exist alone but are part of a bigger whole-a family, society, city, nation, world-We need to belong harmoniously by performing our corresponding Dharma. Ultimately we belong to the Supreme Lord as everything emanates & is sustained by him. We should follow the guidelines set by him & not our self-concocted ideas
