Correction!
When Maharaj Yudhisthira came to know about Kauravas' arrest by Gandharva King, he said to his brothers: I would've immediately gone to Duryodhana’s rescue but because of my vow to live an ascetic life in forest, I cannot do so
Pls go. First try to gain Duryodhana’s release by means of conciliation. If this proves unsuccessful, use light force. Finally, if even that is not enough to bring Gandharvas to senses, they must be crushed by all means
After receiving his elder brother’s command, Arjun vowed to free Duryodhana & so Bhima, Nakul and Sahadev, also prepared to fight. Thereafter, when Pāndavās rushed onto battlefield, Gandharvas enthusiastically turned to fight, being intoxicated by their victory over Kauravas
After a light skirmish, Arjun ordered them to release Duryodhana. However, they simply laughed & declared: Except for Indra, King of Heaven, there is no one who can command us. Arjun said: taking wives of other captive is improper & so you must immediately release Kaurava ladies. Gandharvas ignored these words & so Arjun began to shower his arrows, causing fierce battle to commence
1000’s of Gandharvas surrounded Pāndavās & tried to smash their chariots but in vain. Arjun killed many enemy soldiers while Bhima slaughtered hundred's with his club. At this point Gandharvas ascended to the sky, taking their prisoners with them. Arjun dexterously blocked their path with a network of arrows so that he was able to capture them like birds in a cage. After accomplishing this wonderful feat, Arjun easily pierced his enemies so that their severed limbs fell like rain
As Gandharva King Chitrasena saw how his army is exterminated, he rushed at Arjun, wielding a club. Arjun cut that club into 7 pieces. Chitrasena made himself invisible while continuing to fight. Arjun employed a weapon named sabda-bheda that forced his enemy to reappear. At last, when Arjun saw that Chitrasena was exhausted from fighting, he desisted to fight further, as did his brothers
Chitrasena said: Even before they came here, I knew of Duryodhana’s, Karna & Sakuni’s plan to visit Dvaitvana so that they could flaunt their opulence & mock you in your miserable condition. Indra himself ordered me to go & capture Duryodhana & bring him back to him. I will always act for Arjun’s welfare. Now, let me take Duryodhana & present him to Indra, fulfilling my duty
Arjun said: If you would like to do that which is agreeable to me, immediately set Duryodhana free, for that is Maharāj Yudhisthira’s desire
Correcting someone has different degrees. We should not use full force in all circumstances, but use it to a degree till the desired result is achieved
Rectifying someone does not mean self-aggrandizement, but benefit for others. It is done with the sole purpose of saving others from committing more wrong, which bears consequences for him in this life and next lives
The guiding principle for correction is adherence to Dharma & nothing else
