Humble!

Hearing wonderful exploits of Arjun, Yudhisthira said: I consider myself fortunate to have you back & feel as if I’ve already conquered entire earth. Pls show us celestial weapons you’d used to kill Nivāta kavacas

Arjun showed his weapons one after another. However, because so many celestial weapons assembled in one place, the earth became oppressed with its weight & began to tremble, water of seas became turbulent & shine of Sun became dim. All creatures were affected & prayed for their lives

Lord Brahmā, Lokapālās & even Lord Sivā came while Vāyu showered heavenly flowers on Arjun. Sage Nārada said: Arjun! Don’t invoke these weapons without adequate reason. Infact, even with reason these shouldn’t be employed unless absolute necessary, for such a rash act could destroy entire 3 worlds

Nārada then said to Yudhisthira: Dear King! be assured that you’ll have opportunity to see when Arjun uses them against his enemies in battle. After thus prohibiting Arjun from further displaying his weapons, demigods returned. Pāndavās stayed at the base of Gandhamādan mountain for 4 years & so in all 10 years of their exile period elapsed

One day Bhima & others approached Yudhisthira & said: With your consent we’d like to leave Kuvera’s abode & descend to Bhārata-varsa. We’re afraid that this heavenly abode will cause us to forget our real purpose of vanquishing Duryodhana & regaining our parental kingdom. Yudhisthira agreed & prepared to depart. They reached Badrikāsrama & then to kingdom of Subāhu from where they originally began their mountain journey

One day Bhima wandered alone in adjoining forest. He took pleasure in killing many wild animals, pulling out trees & crushing tops of mountains. As he roamed, he came upon a large snake residing in a mountain cave. It was so huge that it looked like another mountain. With its yellow spots, red eyes & gaping coppery mouth,it was a startling view

As Bhima came close, the gigantic snake seized him. The more Bhima struggled, the more his energy got diminished & so instead of freeing himself he began to lose consciousness. Alarmed, Bhima enquired: Who’re you? How you’ve been able to overpower me?

Snake said: I’m not an ordinary serpent. I’m Nāhusa, the son of Ayu. Once I was cursed by sage Agastya to take this abominable form. I begged sage to retract this curse, to which he said: You’ll be freed when you’ll meet someone who’ll properly describe the nature of Absolute Truth & answer all your questions. As long as you remain in form of a serpent, even superior beings will lose strength when held captive in your coils. You’ll retain memory of your last life as well

Bhima was in a fix what to do!

Humility saves us the blushes. It is not humiliation, which is forced by externals upon us. We feel humiliated when we crave respect but we don't get it or even are disrespected. Humility is voluntary, when we consciously turn away from our craving for respect to pursue a higher purpose
