Vikarna said-Yudhisthira had lost himself first & hence has no right to make another stake. He did so only at urging of Sakuni. Taking into account these points it can be concluded that Draupadi was not lost in gambling & can’t be considered property of Kauravas

 

A loud uproar arose from assembly applauding noble speech of Vikarna. Karna became enraged & said: Vikarna! you’re just a boy who is ignorant about morality & yet dare to speak like an elderly wise man. Draupadi is fairly won & thus everyone has ignored her plea, except you. Why should there be any objection to Draupadi being dragged in assembly during her period? Since she is wife of 5 men, she can hardly be considered a chaste woman. Even if Draupadi had been brought naked, there would have been no fault on our part

 

The whole assembly was STUNNED beyond disbelief at these words

 

Karna continued: Dushasana! Take off Pāndavās royal garments & remove Draupadi’s cloth so that we can see her naked

 

Pāndavas voluntarily took off their royal upper garments & threw them on floor in disgust. At the same time Dushasana grabbed Draupadi’s cloth a began pulling it. Up until this time, Draupadi had tried her best to defend herself by one means or other. Now, as the powerful Dushasana attacked her without restraint, she gave up all hopes to rescue herself by personal endeavor, or by intervention of elders in assembly

 

Like her husbands, Draupadi was an unalloyed devotes of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Krsna. Having no other recourse, she at last fully surrendered at lotus feet of the Lord. Sobbing piteously & covering her face with hands, She prayed to the Supreme Lord by crying out: O Krsna! O Govinda! O Kesava! O Hari! O Janardana! Can’t You see how Kauravas are humiliating me in this assembly?

 

Please come quickly & rescue me, for I’m sinking fast in the Kaurava ocean! O Yogesvara! O Creator of Universe! Please save me from distress for I’m rapidly losing my senses. Krsna, the all pervading Supreme Soul, could hear Draupadi’s plea. Moved by feelings of compassion, Krsna immediately goy up from his royal throne at Dvāraka & appeared on foot at the gambling arena

 

In utter helplessness, Draupadi took shelter of Krsna & the Lord immediately came to her rescue

 

Krsna declares

sarva-dharmān parityajya mām ekaṁ śaraṇaṁ vraja

ahaṁ tvāṁ sarva-pāpebhyo mokṣayiṣyāmi mā śucaḥ

 

Abandon all varieties of religion and just surrender unto Me. I shall deliver you from all sinful reactions. Do not fear!

 

Surrender means leaving all our beliefs that something other than the Supreme Lord can save us. It is the realization that our only refuge is only Krsna & nothing else. Demons will attack but our devotional service & submission to Krsna will take us thro’


Huge assurance. Try it! All our spiritual elevation depends upon this fact

  Make or break!   When Salya agreed to drive Karna’s chariot only on condition that he must be allowed to speak freely whatever he likes, Duryodhana and Karna readily agreed & thus a contract was made. Grudge-The heaviest thing to hold! Asvattāma hurriedly yoked horses to his chariot & set out, as Krpa & Krtvarma anxiously followed him. He soon arrived at Pāndava camp & saw a gigantic being with enormous head with flames emanating from his eyes, nose, ear & mouth   Asvattāma fearlessly attacked that awesome being with his celestial weapons but failed in all his attempt.
