Trust!

Although Dhritrāshtra had genuinely tried to discourage his evil-minded son, he regarded destiny to be supreme & unavoidable and resigned himself to whatever may happen

Vidura was once again summoned & he tried his best to dissuade Dhritrāshtra from his disastrous course of action. However, the king simply replied: Brother this is inevitable will of fate. I want you to go to Indraprastha at once & bring Yudhisthira here, so that he can take part in gambling match with my son

Thus, being commanded against his will, Vidura reluctantly set out. When he met Maharāj Yudhisthira, the king could immediately detect sadness in his face. He inquired-Dear Uncle! I can understand that you’ve not come here on a pleasant mission. Still, please disclose what brings you here. Vidura explained-Being bent upon aggrandizement of his evil-minded son, Dhritrāshtra invites you & your brothers to come to Hastināpur to enjoy a friendly game of dice

Yudhisthira immediately understood the unpalatable consequences of this proposal. He said: I’m very surprised to receive this order from Dhritrāshtra, because a game of dice could easily lead to quarrel between us & his sons. Do you think, I should follow his instruction?

Vidura said-I tried my best to dissuade him, but since I was unsuccessful, it is now upto you to decide whether you want to obey him or not. Yudhisthira asked-With whom will I’ve to compete at dice board? Sakuni has been selected to play on behalf of Duryodhana, said Vidura

Yudhisthira knew very well of Sakuni’s unparalleled skill at dice & his wickedness very well. Considering this, as well as Dhritrāshtra partiality towards Duryodhana, Yudhisthira decided: I’ll not voluntarily play with Sakuni, even if Dhritrāshtra orders me to do so. However, if Sakuni himself challenges me, I’ll not be able to refuse

After saying this Yudhisthira gave orders so that preparations immediately began for his departure. Early next morning he set out along with his brothers & Draupadi

Upon his arrival at Hastināpur, Yudhisthira first went to see Bhisma, Drona & other worshipful elders. Then he met Duryodhana, Sakuni, Salya & others. Finally, he came before his blind uncle, who was seated upon his royal throne with Gāndhāri. He offered obeisance & Dhritrāshtra affectionately smelled the Pāndavās heads

The storm now was brewing & it was calm before the avalanche

When anyone has full faith in us, it becomes our responsibility not to betray their trust, come whatever may

Trust deficit happens when our mind misleads us & proposes to do something despite our intelligence guiding us otherwise. Despite being misled repeatedly, we trust our mind so much because we think its ideas are our ideas. Mind is not us

One must deliver himself with the help of his mind, and not degrade himself. The mind is the friend of the conditioned soul, and his enemy as well
