Today is the transcendental appearance day of Sri Krsna, The Supreme Personality of Godhead
 
janma karma ca me divyam evaṁ yo vetti tattvataḥ
 tyaktvā dehaṁ punar janma naiti mām eti so ’rjuna
 
One who knows the transcendental nature of My appearance & activities does not, upon leaving the body, takes birth again in this material world, but attains My eternal abode, O Arjuna-says Krsna
 
The Personality of Godhead is not niskriya, without activities. So, anyone who can understand what kind of activities the Lord does & what kind of birth He accepts, just by understanding these 2 things one gets wonderful result. By quitting this body, he does not take any more birth in this material world. Some of us may think that “punar janma naiti” means one becomes vanquished. No! One does not come to this material world, but comes back to Spiritual world
 
Krsna has His place, the abode where we can go, simply by understanding the nature of His appearance & activities
 
So today is that auspicious day, Janmashtami, when Sri Krsna appeared, 5000 years ago in India, Mathura. He appeared in His maternal uncle's house in a very precarious condition. Krsna does not take his birth like us. He descends into this material world to enact his pastimes for his pure devotees to relish
 
When Arjuna asked Krsna - You are speaking that formerly You spoke this yoga system of Bhagvad-gita to the sun-god. That means it is millions and trillions years ago You spoke. How can I believe it? Because Krsna was contemporary to Arjuna, so he was thinking that-Krsna is my friend, is my cousin brother. How it is possible that He spoke this Gita to sun-god?
 
Krsna said- You also appear many, many times, I also appear many, many times. The difference is that I can remember but you cannot. That is the difference between God & ordinary living creature. There are 8,400,000 species of life & so long we are in this material world, we are cycling around birth after birth. But Krsna's birth is not like that, He is within our heart, He is everywhere, so He can appear from everywhere
 
Just like sun rises from east side. It does not mean that east is the “mother” of sun; we simply see that sun is rising from the eastern side. In this way, if we try to understand in truth, then we can understand what is God
 
Today let’s call Krsna in our hearts & to do that we need to work to cleanse it of our Anarthas and make it pure for him to manifest. When he manifests, we become blissful, free from all material contamination & elevate ourselves on spiritual realm

Your Friend or enemy! As Ravan sat aboard Pushpaka chariot, gazing at the magnificent scenery below, he suddenly noticed a lady sitting in meditation. Preserving Life! Maharaj Yudhisthira asked Bhisma: What is the duty of a Brahmana during a period of total irreligiosity, when thieves run rampant & anarchy prevails?
