When in doubt?

We have been discussing the events from epic Mahabharata & lot of people cast doubt about the events, characters, pastimes & else

When we study scripture, our preconceptions often act as a barrier to understand the message. We look through our colored filter & thus we accept those parts of scripture that confirm our conceptions and downplay those parts that confound our conceptions. With this we may think we know scripture, but we don’t. To actually know scripture, we need to look at our preconceptions through scripture, not look at scripture through our preconceptions

We need to acknowledge that we our sense are incomplete, our vision is flawed & our propensities are not pure to understand the ultimate reality which has multiple manifestations. These manifestations exist at different levels, with different degrees of power

Each scripture defines remarkable vision of divinity and is a sample of the profound knowledge which we can decipher keeping away our preconceptions and thus relish its sweetness

Krsna says in Bhagvad Gita 7.3

manuṣyāṇāṁ sahasreṣu
kaścid yatati siddhaye
yatatām api siddhānāṁ
kaścin māṁ vetti tattvataḥ

Out of many thousands among men, one may endeavor for perfection, and of those who have achieved perfection, hardly one knows Me in truth

There are various grades of men, and out of many thousands, one may be sufficiently interested in transcendental realization to try to know what is the self, what is the body, and what is the Absolute Truth
