Take shelter & thrive!

Nakula travelled west & after conquering numerous kings he arrived at the precincts of Dvārakā. When Nakula sent a messenger to Lord Krsna & other Yādavās, all of them happily accepted sovereignty of Maharāj Yudhisthira. Nakula then approached his uncle Salya, who out of affection voluntarily accepted subordination of Pāndavās. At last Nakula returned to Indraprastha & offered huge tribute collected to his elder brother

Pāndavās treasury swelled enormously & upon seeing the vast wealth, Yudhisthira began to seriously think about performing Rājsuya sacrifice. All the king’s friends & ministers repeatedly encouraged him to begin preparations. Sri Krsna then arrived at Indraprastha bringing cartloads of valuable presents for his elder cousin brother

Yudhisthira gave Sri Krsna a royal reception. They then sat down with sacrificial priests, headed by Dhaumya & Vyāsdev. Yudhisthira said-My dear Lord Krsna, we’ve endeavored to bring entire world under my rule just to please You & I know that it is only by Your mercy that we’ve come out successful. Now with Your permission, we can begin preparation of Yagya. You can be entrusted for its performance & thereafter rule the world as its emperor or if You so desire, You can allow us to take that responsibility

Krsna said to Yudhisthira-You’re perfectly qualified to become emperor of the world. You who should be entrusted for the performance of Yagya & I’ll gladly assist you. He then ordered Pāndavās to collect paraphernalia needed & Sahadev supplied everything what was required by priests. Arjun collected food. The chief priest Vyāsdev appointed required assistant priests

First preliminary worship of sacrificial arena was conducted & then workmen began construction under direction of qualified Brahmanas. Sahadev sent messengers to invite all classes of men within kingdom. Yudhisthira sent Nakula to Hastināpur to personally invite Bhisma, Drona, Dhritrāshtra, Vidura, Krpa & his cousin brothers

All chieftains of Kuru dynasty came to Indraprastha & Duryodhana accompanied with Sakuni, Karna & Asvattāma also arrived. All great kings of world including Jaydratha, Salya, Kuntibhoja, Bhagadatta, Virāta, Sisupāla, Balarāma & many other Yādavas came. Opulent palaces were assigned for their residence. 1000’s of Brahmanas poured from various lands & were sumptuously fed, given vast amount of charity & taken care

Finally, when everyone had assembled, Maharāj Yudhisthira was ceremoniously entrusted for the performance of Rājsuya sacrifice. He approached the elders of Kuru dynasty & offered all his wealth to them while requesting them to guide him in execution of sacrifice. He then humbly asked various members to take charge of the various departments

Each one of us are vulnerable as we do not have skills to do everything on our own & have to rely on others to make us complete. When we respect elders & take their guidance, their foresight and blessings are the game changers. Our colleagues, friends, juniors & all others are essential compliments even if we are confident about our own abilities. Our ultimate guide is the Supreme Lord

When we consider ourselves as controllers & enjoyers, it is demoniac not divine, leading us towards self-induced catastrophe. We need help for protecting ourselves not only from world’s unpredictable uncertainties but tantalizing temptations. And we need not just help of fellow human beings but also of the Supreme Lord, who is everyone’s eternal source & shelter
