Tact to handle!

 

Arjun went to Puskara to pass the final year of his 12 year exile & thereafter returned to Indraprastha. He first went & offered respects to Maharāja Yudhisthira & then to all Brāhmanas. At last, when Arjun came before Draupadi, she reproached him with jealous anger & said-Why have you come here? Why you’re not with Vasudev’s daughter? Because I’m not sufficiently qualified you’ll surely spend all your time with Subhadrā, absorbed in loving affairs

 

Arjun was able to pacify Draupadi by assuring her of his love & humbly begged for forgiveness. Arjun then made Subhadrā approach Draupadi after she shed her royal dress & putting on the garments of a cowherd girl. Subhadrā first worshipped Kuntidevi & in return her mother-in-law affectionately embraced her & smelled her head

 

She then approached her co-wife Draupadi & introduced her by saying-Please consider me to be your insignificant maidservant. Draupadi was very touched by these sincere & humble words & so she immediately got up & embraced Subhadrā with great affection. She showered great love & treated her as her sister

 

Thus the 5 Pāndavās were able to resume living together very happily & peacefully as before

 

Jealousy is natural for anyone in a loving relationship, but as we see in this instance, it can be overcome by a display of genuine affection, service & humility. It melts hearts

 

When Sri Krsna learned that Arjun had returned to Indraprastha, he went there along with Balarāma, Akrura, Uddhava & numerous other Yadavās. King Yudhisthira well received all & was in ecstasy embracing them. He received valuable gifts brought by Yādavās. After spending some time with Pāndavās, Balarāma & other returned to Dvārka but Krsna stayed to spend more time with Arjun, his dear friend

 

In due course, Subhadrā gave birth to a son named Abhimanyu. Krsna personally performed birth ceremonies for the child. Thereafter Draupadi also gave birth to 5 sons, each one born one year after the previous one, begotten by each of her 5 husbands. With Yudisthira-Prativindhya was born, with Bhima Sutasoma was born, With Arjun Srutkarma was born, With Nakula Satānika was born & with Sahadev Srutasenā was born. Sage Dhaumya performed the ceremonies for all 5 children. Sons of Draupadi studied Vedas from family priest & learnt the science of weapons from Arjun

 

Either the family at home or at work front must be kept together with lot of understanding & appreciation for each member. A little misunderstanding can cause huge problems & dissipates lot of energy to manage. Handling views & egos of contrasting nature need a lot of tact. Adherence to common values & higher principles binds us easily

  Make or break!   When Salya agreed to drive Karna’s chariot only on condition that he must be allowed to speak freely whatever he likes, Duryodhana and Karna readily agreed & thus a contract was made.   Krsna’s plan!   As Asvattāma asked Krpa about what happened to his father Drona, with great anguish Krpa said: My dear Asvattāma, your father was killed by Dhrishtadyumna. Knowing Drona to be invincible as long as he would wield his weapons, Sri Krsna ordered Yudhisthira to falsely inform him of your death.
