Hitting the nail!

Yudhisthira said to Krsna-How will we kill Jarāsandha?
Bhima interjected-Let me, Sri Krsna & Arjun attack Jarāsandha. Even if we aren’t powerful enough to defeat him, I believe that because of Krsna’s mercy & intelligence, we’ll still come out victorious

Krsna said-Since 88 kings are already imprisoned by Jarāsandha, we should immediately go & fight with him. Even if we are defeated, we’ll gain tremendous pious credit. And if we win, Yudhisthira would be the Emperor of World

Yudhisthira became upset when Krsna mentioned possibility of defeat. He said-My Lord! I cannot bear to live without you, Bhima & Arjun. Let us give up idea of fighting with Jarāsandha & performing Rājasuya Yagya. It is too risky!

Arjun said-Brother, don’t think of us to be impotent eunuchs. Heroism is quality of a Kshatriya & so we must not hesitate to fight Jarāsandha & thus become cowards. Krsna was pleased to hear this & praised Arjun saying: This statement is suitable for one born in the line of Bharata! After all death may come at any time, therefore we should act to become glorious. Of course, one should never directly attack such a powerful enemy, but we can adopt some clever means for engaging him in single combat

Yudhisthira inquired-Dear Krsna! How that Jarāsandha became so powerful that he can fight with you & remain alive?
Krsna narrated a story: There was once a great king named Brhadratha, whose prowess was unexcelled on this earth. He married twin daughters of Kāsi king but after many years, couldn’t beget children. One day he heard that great sage Candra Kaushika had come to his city & went to meet him along with his wives. The sage was very pleased by king’s reception & offered him benediction

King expressed his moroseness about not having a son to perpetuate his dynasty. Hearing this, sage went into a trance of meditation beneath a mango tree. It so happened that a juicy mango fell into his lap & after reciting some mantras, it was handed to the king with a potency that if King’s wives ate it, they would be blessed with an incomparable son. King gave each of his queen half the mango & in due course of time, both queens delivered half baby-with half leg, arm & face. Disgusted, queens had their midwives throw the lifeless halves into nearby forest

A female Raksasā named Jarā happened to find two halves lying on ground & as if impelled by fate, joined 2 parts out of curiosity & the baby immediately came to life, his body hard as thunderbolt. Indeed, the child was so heavy that Jarā could not carry him away to devour him. The baby put his fists into his mouth & roared so ferociously that all palace residents were alarmed. The King rushed out to see what was going on & when Jarā saw the King, she thought to help the King who desired to have a son. She assumed human form & presented the wonderful child to him. The King was very pleased to see his newborn son alive

Everyone has a story and reason for his strengths. If we could decipher the details and direct our efforts accordingly, we could achieve success. Strategic actions knowing the intricacies rather than emotional outburst is to be prioritized. We may be powerful but unless we know how & where to hit the nail, it will not pierce. Hit the nail on the head
