Limitation!

Sri Krsna & Balarāma had accompanied Pāndavās to Indraprastha to help their devotees get settled. Thus, royal happiness of Pāndavās was only of incidental importance in comparison to transcendental bliss felt in association of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. One day Nārada muni appeared at Pāndavās royal assembly. King Yudhisthira had the great sage sit on his royal throne & after offering him arghya, reported to him state of affairs within his kingdom

The sage requested King to take seat. Draupadi then arrived to have opportunity of worshipping lotus feet of Mahājana Nārada. The sage offered benediction to her & later gave 5 brothers instructions so that no disagreement would ever arise between them over their common wife. He told an ancient story for this purpose

Once there were 2 brothers named Sunda & Upsunda who had received benediction from Brahmā making them incapable of being slain, except by one another. They were such intimate friends that they lived in same house, ruled same kingdom, slept in same bed & even ate from same plate. Despite this they killed each other for the sake of a woman named Tilottmā. Yudhi requested sage to tell the story in detail

Brothers were sons of Nikumbha in dynasty of Hiranyakāsipu. There were wicked hearted & as they grew, did everything together. They had same desires & shared same disposition as 2 halves of same person. They performed austerities in Vindhya & while performing penance offered their own flesh into sacrificial fire. With their austerities even demigods were afflicted & they send beautiful girls with gifts, hoping to break their determination but to no avail

At last, Brahmā appeared to give benedictions. In reply to his offer brothers said-We wish to use all kinds of weapons, possess mystic powers, incomparable strength & ability to assume any form at will. Most importantly we want to become immortal. Brahmā said-I’ll grant you all your requests with exemption of last. Still, you can almost be equal to immortal as I’ll allow you to choose the way you die. They said-Let us be subject to death only at hands of each other & not by any other means. Brahmā gave consent

The brothers then went to conquer the 3 worlds & celestial abodes and wreaked havoc all around. The killed Brāhmanās, sages & Vedic study & sacrificial performance came to an end. Earth became desolate & whoever remained lived in constant fear of their lives. The great sages went to Brahmā, who considered the matter for few moments & devised a plan. He summoned Vishwakarma & asked him to create a woman capable of completely captivating hearts of all men

Viswakarma carefully constructed body of the most beautiful woman in universe, capable of attracting attention of beholder. Brahmā infused that body with life & gave her name Tilottamā. The rein of brothers was about to end

We may try to be intelligent & consider our schemes to be topmost, but as we all have 4 limitations, our beliefs are short lived. As conditioned souls, our defects are

-       -Make mistakes
-       -Become illusioned
-       -Possess tendency to cheat others
-       -Our senses are imperfect

If we realize this, we will acknowledge higher powers & can save ourselves from demotion
