Demoniac!👿
Pāndavas & Kauravas returned to Hastināpur without Bhima, thinking he must have gone ahead of them. Duryodhana was in a very joyful mood while returning home, thinking that he had successfully done away with his arch rival Bhima, by poisoning him & drowning him in Gangā. Innocent Yudhisthira didn't know the wickedness his cousin & upon reaching the city, he enquired his mother Kunti about Bhima
He said, we had searched for him everywhere, but when we failed to find him, we came home thinking Bhima should've returned before us. Kunti's heart became filled with fear & she cried out in alarm. She informed that Bhima had not returned & called Vidura to tell him that she is afraid that greedy & envious Duryodhana had killed Bhima
Vidura calmly said-Be assured that Bhima is safe & sound. Remember words of sages who had predicted that all your sons would be long-lived
Meanwhile, after sleeping soundly for 8 days, when Bhima woke up, he found that he possessed strength beyond imagination because of the nectar he had drunk. The Nāgas encouraged him to return home & Bhima rose up from nether regions & returned
He went to see his mother & other Pāndavās, who embraced him with great joy. Bhima then related to them all that had happened. Vidura advised Yudhisthira, whatever has occurred should not be spoken of again so that Duryodhana’s wrath may not be further aroused. Just act as if nothing has happened, but in future all of you must protect one another more carefully
Sometime after this incident, Duryodhana once again mixed poison in Bhima’s food. Yuyutsu warned Bhima in advance, but he still ate poisoned food & miraculously digested it with no ill effect
In league with Sakuni & Karna, Duryodhana devised many plans to kill Pāndavās. Although these evil schemes always came to their attention but Pāndavās suppressed their anger in accordance with advice of Vidura
Dhritrāshtra knew his sons were becoming mischievous & so he appointed Krpācharya as their guru & sent them to him for training
The demoniac wants to make a show of religion & advancement in spiritual science, although they do not follow the principles. They are always arrogant/ proud in possessing some type of education or wealth. They desire to be worshiped by others & demand respectability, although they do not command respect. Over trifles they become very angry & speak harshly, not gently. They do not know what should & should not be done
They do everything whimsically, according to their own desire, and they do not recognize any authority. These demoniac qualities are taken on by them from the beginning of their bodies in the wombs of their mothers, and as they grow, they manifest all these inauspicious qualities
Krsna says:
dambho darpo ’bhimānaś ca krodhaḥ pāruṣyam eva ca
ajñānaṁ cābhijātasya pārtha sampadam āsurīm
Pride, arrogance, conceit, anger, harshness & ignorance–these qualities belong to those of demoniac nature, O son of Pṛthā
