Then Fire god (Agni), alter reflecting for a while, withdrew himself-from places of daily homa of Brahmanas, from all long-extending sacrifices, from places of holy rites, & from other ceremonies. Without their Oms & Vashats, and deprived of their Swadhas & Swahas (sacrificial mantras during offerings), all beings became much distressed at the loss of sacrificial fire

The Rsis in great anxiety went to gods & addressed them-O immaculate beings! The 3 regions of universe are confounded at the cessation of their sacrifices & ceremonies in consequence of loss of fire! Ordain what is to be done in this matter, so that there may be no loss of time. Then Rsis & gods went together to the presence of Brahma, & represented to him all about the curse on Agni by sage Bhrigu & consequent interruption of all ceremonies

They said to Brahma-Agni has been cursed by Bhrigu for some reason. Indeed, being the mouth of the gods & the first who eats what is offered in sacrifices including sacrificial butter, how can Agni be reduced to the condition of one who eats all things indiscriminately

Creator of universe Brahma, hearing these words, summoned Agni to his presence & said-O Agni! the creator of all, eternal & also destroyer! You preserve the 3 worlds & promote all sacrifices and ceremonies! Pls Therefore behave yourself so that ceremonies is not interrupted. Also, you’re eater of sacrificial butter, then why acting so foolishly? You alone are always pure in the universe and will stay that way. You will not be reduced to the state of one who eats everything promiscuously. Your flame that is in your viler parts shall alone eat all things alike. The body of yours which eats flesh (being in the stomach of all carnivorous animals) shall also eat all things randomly

And as everything touched by sun's rays becomes pure, similarly everything shall become pure that is burnt by your flames. You are supreme energy born of your own power. Hence by that power of yours make Sage Bhrigu’s curse come true. Continue to receive your own portion & that of gods, offered at your mouth

Sauti continued, then Agni being satisfied with the blessing replied to Brahma-So be it!

When we are in a tough spot but keep patience and adhere to principles, it pays with huge returns. Lord Brahma kept Bhrigu’s words and also made Agni happy. Managers should also play smart while adjudicating between two equal team members. It needs wisdom and tact to find a solution acceptable to warring parties without affecting the enterprise as a whole
