Liberation from false happiness
Shatrughna accompanied by counsellors, reported to Vashishtha, the chief priest & his friends about arrival of sanctified waters intended for Rām’s coronation brought by Vānaras. Elderly Vashishtha & other Brahmins, then approached Rām & Sitā and asked them to occupy seat made of precious stones
Vashishtha, Vāmdev, Kashyapa, Katyayana, Suyajna, Gautam & Vijaya, all together consecrated Rām with clear & fragrant waters They did this with delight with other Brahmanas officiating as priest. Virgins, ministers, warriors as well as merchants sprinkled sap of all kinds of medicinal herbs. The four gods, the guardian of the worlds, stood in air & also sprinkled auspicious waters from above
The crown, which Manu the emperor, was adorned with, while he was consecrated & with which, the kings which followed in his line were successively adorned, that crown studded with precious jewels, fashioned by Brahma at the beginning of creation & dazzling with splendor, being kept according to practice on a throne adorned with many kinds of precious stones in the council-hall, studded with gold, graced with abundant riches, decorated and shiningly made with most charming jewels of various kinds. Rām was duly adorned by that crown as well as jewels by Vasishta and other priests officiating at the coronation-ceremony
Shatrughna held over Rām, charming white parasol, Sugriva held a white whisk & Vibhishana too held a whisk shining like moon. Encouraged by Indra, lord of celestials, the wind-god presented to Rām a golden garland consisting of hundred lotuses shining brilliantly. He also presented a chain of pearls, adorned with gems & endowed with several types of precious stones. At the ceremony, celestial musicians gracefully sang, and troops of Apsaras danced in rhythm
On this occasion of merriment of coronation of Rām, Earth was bearing rich crop & trees were laden with fruits and fragrant flowers. It was an occasion to remember for eternity & all the eyes which were witness to the ceremony were mesmerized & were in awe. All were blissful at the core of their heart and jubilant outside
Pleasure sensations on the bodily level does provide an alteration to our physical situation but does not provide happiness. These sparks are peripheral to who we really are. In contrast things which makes an impression on our spiritual essence, who we really are, a spirit soul, does give us imperishable happiness from inside which is reflected outside as well
Bhakti yoga provides us that connection thro’ which we can purify our emotions thro’ devotional service for everlasting ecstatic absorption
bāhya-sparśeṣv asaktātmā vindaty ātmani yat sukham
sa brahma-yoga-yuktātmā sukham akṣayam aśnute
Such a liberated person is not attracted to material sense pleasure but is always in trance, enjoying the pleasure within. In this way the self-realized person enjoys unlimited happiness, for he concentrates on the Supreme
