As Vibhishana ordered all demons & Vānaras to be dispersed so that Sitā may see Rām in private, Rām stopped him to do so & said to him-It’s not house that protects a woman, nor her dress, nor compound walls, nor concealments or royal honors. Her character is her shield

A woman becoming visible to public in times of a calamity is not condemned in difficult situations, nor in battles, nor in self-choosing of husband by princess at a public assembly of suitors, nor in sacrificial ceremonies & not in marriage-functions. Sitā was in distress and in great calamity. There is no fault in her appearing in public, particularly in my presence. Let her come on foot leaving the palanquin at a distance. Let all Vānaras see Sitā in my presence

Hearing the words of Rām, Vibhishana brought Sitā to Rām’s vicinity

Hearing the words of Rām, Laxman Sugriva & Hanumān felt very much perturbed. From the pitiless facial expressions of Rām showing indifference towards Sitā, they conjectured as if he had some displeasure towards Sitā

Sitā on her part, shrinking into her limbs with modesty, approached her husband duly followed by Vibhishana. The pleasant faced Sitā, who considered her husband as divinity, saw his charming face with rejoice, surprise & affection. Seeing the face of her beloved husband, which had not been seen for a long time & which was charming like the rising full moon, she dispelled her mental fatigue

Seeing Sitā, who stood at his vicinity bowing low, Rām began to tell his feeling hidden in his heart & said-You’re won back by me after conquering the enemy in battlefield, my dear Sitā. That which is to be done thro’ human effort has been accomplished. I’ve come to the end of my indignation & my outrage has been completely requited & also contempt against enemy has been wiped out. Today the toil has borne fruit & I’ve fulfilled my promise

The wrong done to you, when you were taken away by a fickle minded demon, ordained by destiny, has been corrected. What is the use of prowess however great, of a weak-minded man who does not wipe out by his energy, insult fallen to his lot? The praise-worthy act of Hanumān in the form of crossing of ocean & destruction of Lankā has borne fruit today. The endeavor of Sugriva, who exhibited his prowess on battlefield with his army & tendered good advice, is fruitful today

Acknowledging efforts of all in a win is an element great leaders utilize to establish that the team is more important than individuals. This also imbibes humility to understand that even when we do our best, there is a lot that affects us which we can’t do much about. If a leader thinks that he is the controller & enjoyer, then overestimating himself & underestimating others brings complacency & impudence. Such foolhardy belief surely takes him to destruction

We need to acknowledge that we need help of something outside of ourselves. We need help for protecting us from world’s many unpredictable uncertainties
