Morality & its application!

Rām, the excellent among the eloquent, whose mind was set on virtue, was pleased to hear the words of Fire god enumerating the spotless character of divine Sitā. He reflected on Brahmā’s words too & his eyes were filled with tears of joy. The courageous Rām, replied to fire god, the best amongst celestials as follows-Sitā certainly deserves this purification ordeal for the eyes of the people as the blessed lady had resided for a long time in the gynaecium of Rāvan

The world would say words against me, saying that Rām, the son of Dashratha, was foolish & that his mind was dominated by lust, if I had accepted Sitā without examining her with regards to her chastity of character. I also know that Sitā, daughter of Janaka, who ever occupies my mind, is undivided in her affection to me. I have full faith in her words, actions & character, without any doubt

I very well know that Rāvan could not & cannot violate the wide eyed Sitā, who is protected by her own splendor, any more than an ocean would transgress its bounds. In order to convince the 3 worlds, I whose refuge is truth, ignored Sitā while she was entering fire. As you could see that evil minded Rāvan was not able to lay his violent hands, even in thought on the unobtainable Sitā, who was blazing like a flaming tongue of fire

This auspicious woman is non different from me as the sunlight is not different from the Sun. Sitā is completely pure in her character & cannot be renounced by me, as a good name cannot be cast aside by a prudent man. The salutary advice of you all (celestials), the guardians of the world, must certainly be followed by me

Saying thus & getting reunited with his beloved Sitā, the victorious & highly illustrious Rām, scion of Raghu dynasty, who was endowed with strength & deserved happiness & was being glorified for his exploits performed by his own self, experienced joy

A person in leadership role, does not only follow what he considers is correct, but also portrays it by his visible practical behavior for all to see what is truth. A leader cannot manufacture rules against the principles of revealed scriptures, which are considered the standard books to be followed by human society. One who desires to improve himself must follow the standard rules as they are practiced by the great teachers

Either it is material progress or spiritual realization, the guideline for morality must be followed. The king or the executive head of a state, the father & the school teacher are all considered to be natural leaders of innocent people in general. All such natural leaders have a great responsibility to their dependents. Therefore, they must be conversant with standard books of moral and spiritual codes & its application in their lives, says Srila Prabhupada
