Compassion!
Hearing the words of Rām, Vibhishana entered the gynaecium in haste & communicated his presence to Sitā thro’ other women. He then went to see the divine lady with his palms joined over his head & humbly spoke to her as follows-O Sitā! Anointed with charming cosmetics & adorned with beautiful jewels if you please mount the chariot, your husband wants to see you
Hearing Vibhishana’s words, Sitā replied-O king of demons! I wish to see my husband even without taking bath. Vibhishana humbly said-You ought to do the bidding of your husband, as he has enjoined you to do
Hearing the words, the virtuous Sitā, regarding her husband as divinity & endowed as she was with devotion to Rām, said-So it be!
Sitā after auspicious bath, put on costly robes & adorned herself with valuable jewels. She then ascended a shining palanquin, covered with exceedingly valuable cloth & guarded by numerous demons. Vibhishana then respectfully escorted Sitā & brought her to the presence of Rām
Approaching the great souled Rām, who was absorbed in thought even after coming to know that Sitā had arrived, Vibhishana offered his obeisance & with great joy announced that Sitā has arrived
Hearing that Sitā had arrived after living long in the abode of a demon, Rām was filled with joy, indignation & also felt miserable, all 3 emotions at the same time. Feeling unhappy on considering with deep thought, the coming of Sitā on a palanquin, Rām said to Vibhishana-Let Sitā duly seek my presence quickly
Vibhishana acting on propriety began to disperse the crowd assembled there to give privacy. Few demons carrying staff walked around dispersing all warriors. Crowds of bears, Vānaras & demons were dispersed from near the palanquin. As they moved away, a great sound erupted
Rām seeing them dispersed on all sides, stopped them out of kindness & said to Vibhishana-Why disregarding me are these people harassed by you? Stop this exertion. They are my own people
Compassion is not helping others with an air of superiority but dealing with a feeling of affection. When we treat others at par with ourselves & help others not by judging them and making them feel bad but treat them with genuine empathy, then we connect without alienating them. No one likes to be looked down upon
Let’s focus morally & connect spiritually seeing the true equality of all living beings in both happiness & distress
