Indrajit struck Gandhamadana with 18 & Nila (standing faraway) with 9 arrows simultaneously. He struck Mainda with 7, Gaja with 5, Jāmbavan with 10 arrows & also shot Sugriva, Rishabha, Angada & Dvivida with arrows loaded with boons, making them breathless


He looked like an excited fire ready to destroy the world. He harassed Vānara army from all sides & drenched them in blood. Being invisible, he rained hail of arrows, as black cloud downpours rain. Mountain like Vānaras fell as pins as they saw only sharp arrows falling on them but could not see Indrajit, concealed by his conjured trick


With lances, spikes, & sharp arrows charged with sacred texts, Indrajit struck all foremost Vānaras namely Hanumān, Sushena, Vegdarshina, Gavaksha, Gavaya, Kesari, Hariloma, Vidyuddamshtra, Suryanana, Jyothimukha, Dadhimukha, Pavakaksha, Nala & Kumuda. Next he showered multitude of arrows on Rām & Laxman


Rām ignoring shower of arrows, said to Laxman-Indrajit is tormenting us incessantly with his sharp arrows. How can he, on whom a boon has been bestowed by Brahma & who has concealed his terrible form, be killed in battle today? Inconceivable Brahmā is source of universe & these arrows presided over by him are invincible


As Rām was discussing, Indrajit shot 2 missiles, knocking down two brothers who fell unconscious. Seeing this Vānara chiefs fainted & Sugriva, Nila, Angad & Jāmbavan couldn’t understand what to do. Seeing entire army looking worried, Vibhishana consoled Sugriva’s warriors & said-Honoring the sacred spell of Brahmā, the 2 sons of venerable Dasaratha have lost their free will & have allowed themselves to be knocked down by the missiles. This is not time to be despondent as I’m sure Rām Laxman will be back soon


Intelligent Hanumān paid honor to Brahmāstra & said to Vibhishana-Lets restore confidence of Vānaras who’ve been injured. They went to battle-front with torches in hand & saw devastation, with many Vānara chiefs struck down & lay bleeding. Sixty-seven crores of Vānaras were struck down by Brahmāstra


Vibhishana was carefully looking for Jāmbavan who was lying amongst injured, located him & said-O venerable one! I’m able to recognize you by your voice alone. Pierced by sharp arrows, you’re badly injured. Jāmbavan in feeble voice said-Is Hanumān holding on to his life? Is he nearby? Pls call him soonest as I’ve an important errand for him


Humility is a virtue which even God exemplifies in his pastimes. We often learn from failures but when we succeed, we may think that there is nothing to learn from success. I have succeeded because all what is to be learnt is done. But intelligent person is aware of the hand of Supreme Lord in whatever he has achieved & is thus humble. The ownership of success is not his. Success is in fact a blessing to serve others. It brings responsibility


When we're humble, we appreciate our abilities as gifts given to us by Supreme to help us succeed,else pride leads us to fall

  Make or break!   When Salya agreed to drive Karna’s chariot only on condition that he must be allowed to speak freely whatever he likes, Duryodhana and Karna readily agreed & thus a contract was made. Grudge-The heaviest thing to hold! Asvattāma hurriedly yoked horses to his chariot & set out, as Krpa & Krtvarma anxiously followed him. He soon arrived at Pāndava camp & saw a gigantic being with enormous head with flames emanating from his eyes, nose, ear & mouth   Asvattāma fearlessly attacked that awesome being with his celestial weapons but failed in all his attempt.
