Anger!
Seeing Narantaka dead, Devantaka Trishira & Mahodara wept. They decided to attack Angad together
Mahodara mounted an excellent elephant to attack, Devantaka took a huge iron rod & ran, while Trishira mounted a chariot. They all marched together towards Angad. Attacked simultaneously by 3, Angad uprooted a tree with its large boughs & hurled it towards Devantaka like Indra’s thunderbolt, but Trishira chopped it off with sharp arrows. Mahodara threw his javelin hitting Angad’s chest, Devantaka struck with club & Trishira with arrows but Angad of great prowess, was not alarmed
Instead Angad acting with great agility fended off the attack & struck Devantaka’s elephant with his palm & it fell dead. Pulling out the tusk of elephant, Angad struck Devantaka, causing him to sway to & fro, spitting blood. Somehow recovering his breath, Devantaka hit Angad with an iron rod, who fell on earth but jumped up. Trishira then hit Angad on his forehead by powerful arrows
Seeing Angad surrounded by 3 demons, Hanumān & Nila arrived. As Nila hit Trishira with a huge boulder, Hanumān struck Devantaka on head with his fist. With his head crushed by blow & eyes bulging out, Devantaka fell dead
Trishira then hit Nila with powerful arrows accompanied by Mahodara. Taken aback but quickly recovering, Nila uplifted a mountain with number of trees & shattered Mahodara's head & the demon lost his life air
Trishira shot Hanumān with sharp arrows. Replying Hanumān hurled many boulders & trees on him, but he successfully fended it off. The demon threw a spear which was caught mid air & broken. He then attacked Hanumān’s breast with a sword. Hurt by thrust of sword, son of wind god struck Trishira on his breast with his palm, causing him to fall unconscious with his weapons slipping from his hand
Trishira regained consciousness & hit Hanumān with his fist. Enraged Hanumān snatched Trishira’s sword & swiftly cut off the 3 heads of demon
Seeing 3 demons killed, Mahaparshva came running with a resplendent mace. Foremost Vānar Rishabha, seeing him coming stood before him & received a blow from mace on his chest. Enraged, Rishabha snatched the mace & struck demon with it, causing him to fall like a mountain when hit with thunderbolt
All 4 sons & 2 brothers of Rāvan now lay dead
Is it a good idea to use anger constructively to our benefit without being ourselves used by anger? Rāvan was used by anger without a pause to reflect & use anger to his benefit by finding solution to why he was losing again & again his dear ones and all what he had
Most of the times driven by self-conception that we are controllers, we react to situations where we lost control, to reassert & gain control back. If contrary happens, we get consumed by the fury of anger, thereby adding fuel to fire, thus making our life hell. In such situations when we are angry, we need to reflect why & what is going wrong, recalibrate our approach, thus utilizing anger to our benefit
