Who protects!

Seeing Rāvan, despite his redoubtable strength, swooned on the battlefield, Vānar army shouted in triumph & hailed Hanumān on his valor. Hanumān then lifted Laxman in his arms, who had been wounded by Rāvan & brought him to Rām’s presence. Laxman who was heavy for Rāvan to lift, became light for Hanumān because of great devotion of Vayuputra towards him. Laxman was healed & free from the lance of the spear, he recollected himself

Mighty Rāvan too regained his consciousness & picked up sharp arrows & his bow. Seeing the great Vānar army, whose great warriors Rāvan had overthrown, Rām rushed on Rāvan. Hanumān approached Rām & said -You’ve to punish this demon by climbing my back as Vishnu rides the Garuda, to fight the enemies. Rām acknowledged the words & mounted the shoulders of his devotee. He then saw Rāvan standing on the chariot

Becoming angry seeing him, Rām made a sound of drawing the cord of his bow, like a thunder & said to Rāvan-O king of demons! Stay Stay, Having evoked such displeasure to me where would you flee & get abandonment? Even if you seek refuge in the region of Indra the Lord of celestials or Yama the Lord of Death or the Sun or Brahma the Lord of Creation or Agni the Lord of Fire or Shiva the Lord of dissolution or in the ten regions, even in those abodes you cannot elude me from now on

O, Rāvan! The one who was struck by the spear, fell swooping this day only to recover consciousness immediately, will now, assuming the form of death, claim you, your sons, and grandsons in battle. Here is he, under whose blows of arrows, fourteen thousand demons of terrible form perished, who had established themselves in Janasthan and were furnished with excellent weapons

Hearing the words of Rām, Rāvan of great strength, full of rage & recollecting his former hostility struck with flaming arrows resembling the tongues of the Fire of Dissolution, on Hanumān, who with extreme velocity, was bearing Rām in the battle-field. Even when struck by that demon with his arrows in the battle, the vigor of Hanumān, who was endowed with native strength, increased still further. Thereupon, seeing Hanuman the Tiger among the monkeys getting wounded by Rāvan, Rām was transported with anger

Going near his chariot with his sharp and pointed arrows, Rama shattered it along with its wheels, horses, banner, canopy, great standard, charioteer, darts, spears & swords

In Bhagvad Gita Krsna says

paritranaya sadhunam vinasaya ca duskrtam
dharma-samsthapanarthaya sambhavami yuge yuge

In order to deliver the pious and to annihilate the miscreants, as well as to reestablish the principles of religion, I advent Myself millennium after millennium

The Lord has many agents who are quite competent to vanquish demons. But the Lord especially descends to appease His unalloyed devotees, who are always harassed by the demonic.

Happy Gita Jayanti! #gameoflife
