Moment of Truth!

As Rām stretched his bow, Kumbhakarna got enraged by its twang & not tolerating the sound, ran towards him, looking like cloud driven by wind. Rām declared-Know me as an annihilator of demons & its high time you be killed. Knowing he was Rām, Kumbha laughed in rebellious tone & said-I’m neither Viradha, Kabandha, Khara, Vāli or Māricha but I'm Kumbhakarna

See my terrific hammer, which even celestials & demons never conquered. You need not treat me with contempt as I'm deprived of my ears & nose. Show your prowess on my limbs & after seeing your strength, I will decide to devour you

Rām shot plumed arrows with speed of thunderbolt, but Kumbha was neither shaken nor afflicted. Those arrows which chopped off Sāl trees & killed Vāli could not torment Kumbha

Rām then shot missile Vayavya, chopping off right arm of Kumbha along with the hammer. Kumbha gave a tumultuous roar in excruciating pain & his arm fell on a regiment of Vānar army crushing them

Kumbha with his other arm pulled a huge tree from its roots & ran towards Rām. Taking out an arrow which made of gold & furnished with mystic spell of Indra, Rām chopped other arm along with uprooted palm tree. It fell on ground dashing trees, rocks, Vānaras & demons

Seeing Kumbha with his arms chopped off, still coming towards him, Rām took out 2 arrows with half-moon shape & slashed the feet of Kumbha. As Kumbha feet fell, it created a resound in all directions. Widely opening his mouth & roaring, Kumbha whose arms & feet were cut-off, ran with only his thighs towards Rām, like Rāhu was going to seize moon. Rām shot multiple sharp arrows & filled Kumbha’s mouth & he became little unconscious

Rām got hold of an arrow spelled with missile presided over by Indra, effulgent as Sun’s rays, resembling Brahmā’s rod, & having speed equal to wind, discharging it at the demon. The arrow propelled by Rām’s arm, moved like smokeless fire, illuminating all 10 quarters, slashed Kumbha’s head, looking like a huge mountain peak. The demon’s head fell down & broke buildings on King’s highway & city ramparts of Lankā

Kumbha fell into sea, crushing alligators, fishes & snakes & entered the bowels of earth. The gigantic demon was dead

The moment of truth arrives sooner than later. Sometimes we also hope against hope despite deviating from the principles and await a different result expecting the impossible. We all face this inherent challenge when we succumb to temptations & lose our adherence to fundamentals. We may appear to be correct externally but when the critical time comes, the weighing scale does not lie about the effort we have made (or not)

Just as the weighing scale shows the weight we have accumulated, similarly our consciousness also gets weighed down by our false ego & thus we are addicted &captivated to do things leading to self-destruction

What a loss of power, strength & intellect in the form of Kumbha & many of do represent the same
