🚫Illusion🚫

Rāvan continued telling lies to Sitā & said-Angad, who was adorned with bracelets has fallen emitting blood from all sides after being pierced by demons with many arrows. Other Vānaras are crushed by elephants & multitude of chariots, like clouds are crushed by the velocity of wind. Rām’s army then fled in terror, pursued by demons and some of them fell in sea, others sought shelter in sky, and some climbed up the trees. Thus, your husband together with his army are killed by my troops

Rāvan then instructed a she-demon as Sitā was overhearing him-Bring Vidyujjihva, the demon of cruel deed by whom Rām’s head was brought back from the battlefield

Holding the head along with a bow, Vidyu made a respectful salute with his head bent low & stood in front of Rāvan. The demon king roared-Keep Rām’s head immediately in front of Sitā, let her see well the final condition of her husband

Hearing Rāvan’s words, Vidyu deposited the illusory head in the vicinity of Sitā & disappeared from site. “Here is Rām’s bow famous in 3 worlds” said Rāvan & threw a great shining bow in front of Sitā. This is the bow with its cord stretched, belonging to Rām, that was brought back by my general Prahasta, after killing that hero in the night. With Rām's head & bow on ground in front of Sitā, Rāvan said-You now must become submissive to my desire & become my queen, laughing hysterically

Sitā saw the illusory head & bow. She heard Rāvan narration about Rām's friendly relationship with Sugriva, as earlier apprised by Hanumān. Recognizing that head as that of Rām, with a proof, resembling her husband's eyes, facial complexion, hair, expanse of his forehead & the beautiful jewel worn on the top of his head, she was very much afflicted with sorrow & cried like an osprey

Misconceiving one thing for another thing is called illusion. For example, accepting a rope as a snake is illusion, but the rope is not false. The rope, as it exists in the front of the illusioned person, is not at all false, but the acceptance is illusory. Therefore, the wrong conception of accepting material manifestation as being divorced from the energy of the Lord is illusion, but it is not false. And this illusory conception is called the reflection of the reality in the darkness of ignorance

Anything that appears apparently disconnected from the Supreme Lord is called Māyā! Our so-called feelings of happiness & satisfaction or of distress & dissatisfaction, from material things are illusions. We should be very careful about such emotions which binds us & deviates us from our eternal connection to the Supreme Lord

This has huge implications in our professional lives, when we are bonded by illusions set up by others to deliberately degrade us. Our faith connected to higher principles does hold us back & remain dovetailed to stability
