Good Vs Evil

On Rāvan’s instructions, demon army battalions rushed forth like an ocean swollen by clouds at the time of universal dissolution. Then from every side a clamor arose from Vānar army, which filled Malaya Mountain. The sound of conches & drums made by demons & the leonine roars of Vānaras echoed all over. Trumpeting of elephants, neighing of horses, chattering of chariot wheels & sounds of footsteps, presented a deafening roar

Exhibiting their native prowess, demons began to strike all Vānaras with their flaming maces, spears, harpoons & axes. Gigantic Vānaras in turn swiftly struck demons with trees, huge rocks, nails & teeth with a war cry-Victorious is King Sugriva! Enraged, they leapt into air & dragged down demons stationed on walls seizing them with their arms. Tumultuous combat between them transformed into a wonder, leaving a mire of flesh & blood

While wise Vānar troops & demons were fighting, a terrible military ferocity arose in them. The demons did terrific acts & were eager to triumph in Rāvan’s name. They marched ahead on steeds with golden trappings resembling pointed flames, in chariots flashing like Sun, wearing beautiful armors creating reverberant sounds in ten regions. Vānaras eager to win, marched opposite to demon troops. Extraordinary duels arose between them as they ran towards each other

Indrajit fought against Angad, Sampāti fought with Prajangha, Hanumān measured his strength with Jambumali, Vibhishana confronted Shatrughna, Gaja fought with Tapana, Nila with Nikumba, Sugriva with Praghasa & the glorious Laxman confronted Virupaksha in the battle. The invincible Agniketu, Rashmiketu, Mitraghnu & Yajnakopa fought with Rām. Vajramushti fought Mainda & Ashaniprabha with Dvivida. Mainda and Dvivida confronted highly terrific demons. Pratapana fought well with Nala, Sushena fought with Vidyunmali

Streams of blood flowed from the bodies of Vānaras & demons, with turfs of hair and carrying bodies in the stream, like timber. The enraged Indrajit struck valiant Angad with a mace, like Indra, Lord of celestials with his thunderbolt. Angad in turn struck his chariot along with his horses & charioteer. It was an all out war to safeguard right Vs wrong. & was in preparation for a long time

When there is a fight of good Vs evil, an enemy destruction shall be brought about even at the cost of great losses in men, material and wealth. When the subjects are exploited & injustice caused, the enemy should be attacked with full force by proclaiming war. Strategy, tactics & the framework to attack respective enemy generals should be applied & hard fought. The clever combatant imposes his will on the enemy but does not allow enemy’s will to be imposed on him

Huge implications in our professional front where we need to pick our wars to establish what is “right”. It could be long drawn with repercussions but has to be fought to establish righteousness else the momentum is built on the other side. Be-ware
