Make things worse!
Sanjaya continued telling King Dhritarashtra what Duryodhana conveyed thro’ his messenger Uluka in Pandava’s court:
Next, Duryodhana
challenged: O Krsna, let us see You exhibit once more the form that You displayed
at our royal assembly hall. Such magic tricks will not help You save Your life on
the battlefield
Duryodhana then
said: O Bhima, I think it would have been better if you had remained a cook in Virata's
court, but since you have come here to fight, let us see if you can make good your
vow to drink Dushasana's blood
Sanjaya continued:
My dear King, your son gave similar boasting
messages to other warriors on Pandavas' side. After doing so, he laughed out loud,
being very proud of his cleverness in insulting others. Duryodhana then reminded
Pandavas of injustices & hardships they had endured at his hands. He tauntingly
challenged them to take revenge if they were able to do so
Your foolish son
became intoxicated while continuing to boast of his prowess. At last, he declared
"Even if a thousand Arjunas aided by a thousand Krsnas were to attack me on
battlefield, I could easily drive them away
Uluka took these
messages & went to Pandavas' camp. While approaching Maharaja Yudhisthira, he
begged: O King, please don’t become angry upon hearing the words that are my duty
to repeat. Maharaja Yudhisthira assured Uluka that he need not be afraid
The son of Sakuni
read Duryodhana's messages, which concluded: O sons of Pandu, I urge you to vividly
remember how you lost your kingdom at the dice board. Please remember how your wife
was insulted in front of elderly Kurus, and how they could do nothing to stop it.
Remember how you had to live a miserable life of exile in forest & how you had
to act as menial servants for one full year while living incognito at Virata's kingdom
Now, if you’re
able to, act like men & regain your kingdom by fighting! However, I’m sure that
when you see the formidable Kuru army arrayed upon battlefield, you’ll repent &
thus give up all desire to regain your kingdom
When Pandavas heard
Duryodhana's messages, spoken by UIuka, they became exceedingly agitated. Still,
UIuka arrogantly repeated the messages, just to provoke them further. Thus, Pandavas
became highly enraged. After jumping up from their seats, they restlessly stretched
their arms. The Pandavas looked toward Sri Krsna with eyes red with rage, and all
were breathing heavily. Sri Krsna smilingly told Uuka: You should return to Duryodhana
& simply inform him that we’ll answer his challenges
Huge lessons
for us! Our actions should speak larger than our words. Duryodhana thro’ his
words is not only presenting his false ego but is also provoking Pandavas’s
fury unnecessarily the result of which would be the extermination of his entire
clan
We should be
very careful not to be entrapped in our emotions & make our life more
miserable. Let’s use intelligence to think and act wisely and not make things
worse than before
