Exploitation - Not a good idea!
As the incognito
exile of Pāndavās was nearing completion, Kauravā’s spies searched through
countless forests, towns & villages within numerous kingdoms but returned
back to Hastināpur empty handed. They immediately went & presented
themselves to Duryodhana, who was seated in the royal court along with his
brothers, Bhishma, Drona, Krpā, Karna & Trigarta warriors
The spies reported:
O king! Although we traced the Pāndavās chariot tracks to Dvārakā, we could not
find them there or at any other place. One interesting piece of news, however
is that Kicaka, the arch enemy of the Trigartas, has been killed by an
invisible Gandharva, along with his brothers & other relatives
After hearing this,
Duryodhana pondered over the situation for some time. He then told the assembly:
I’m unable to decide what should be done next. I therefore request all of you to
kindly advise me
Karna suggested:
Let us send out more & better skilled spies & have them search with greater
thoroughness
Dushasana commented:
I think that either Pāndavās have hidden so well that they cannot be
discovered, or they have died, leaving no trace
Drona countered
this, saying: This is a foolish conclusion. Such great personalities would never
perish, even under the most awkward circumstances. Pāndavās will surely return
to Hastināpur at the conclusion of their exile & so you should better
prepare to make peace with them
Bhishma said: Dear
Duryodhana, Drona has spoken reasonably. However, if you still want to find out
where the Pāndavās are staying, you should search in that kingdom where
righteousness is upheld. Go to where people are happy, prosperous &
undisturbed by the onslaught of material miseries, and where nature supplies
her gifts in abundance. These are natural results of the Pāndavās auspicious presence
Susharma, mighty
king of Trigartas said: Formerly I was defeated by Kicaka & King Virāta,
but now his wicked general is dead, so the king of Matsyas must be disheartened.
Let us take this good opportunity to attack the Matsya kingdom & plunder
Virātas’ wealth, especially his 1000’s of excellent cows
Karna applauded
this idea saying: This is much more constructive than worrying about the Pāndavās,
who are now destitute & powerless. Duryodhana also liked Susarma’s idea
& ordered Dushasana to array Kaurava army at once, after taking permission
from Dhritrāshtra
Taking advantage of
one’s situational weakness and exploiting it, is a sign of weakness not strength.
Noble warriors live on ones own strength & not others’ fragility
This principle applies
so well to businesses as well. When a company preys on other entity’s weakness
and is not focused on self-performance, it is bound to fail in the long run.
When corporations are programmed to exploit others for profit, it is a huge disservice
to its own talented employees, which can otherwise make a huge difference by
their honest efforts to build better future & societies
