Commonsense is not so common🤐

Rāvan hearing Vānara army making tumultuous sound, said to his demon ministers-Go & immediately discover cause of this rejoicing amongst them instead of grief due to present situation

Demons went quickly, crossing ramparts of Lankā & saw Vānara army led by Sugriva jumping with joy. The highly fortunate Rām Laxman, who were relieved of the terrific shackle of arrows, had risen together & were cheered by all. Seeing this, the demons felt desponded

With their hearts trembling with fear & faces turned pale, they descended the ramparts & approached Rāvan. With downcast faces, they faithfully informed their king of the unpleasant news & said-The 2 brothers, whom Indrajit had bound with his benumbing shafts & whose arms he had pinioned, are free from arrows. They are back on battlefield as 2 strong elephants who’ve snapped their fetters

Hearing their words, Rāvan was filled with anxiety & fury. His face became pale & he said-If my adversaries, having thus bound by Indrajit are freed, despite their injuries in battle by his formidable arrows resembling serpents & infallible by rare boon, then my entire army is in jeopardy. Those very arrows, which have taken life of my enemies have now been rendered void

Hissing in anger like a snake, loosing his mind, Rāvan addressed a demon Dhumraksha-You with terrific prowess, go quickly with considerable force & slay Rām Laxman & Vānara generals

Dhumraksha quickly departed from royal palace & crossing the gate spoke to army generals-mobilize army quickly with no delay. Furnished with every kind of weapon, brandishing spears, hammers, maces, harpoons, sticks, iron cudgels, bars, clubs, javelins, missiles, nooses & axes, those terrible demons sallied forth with noise of thunder mounting chariots & they moved like veritable tigers

Dhumraksha set out in celestial chariot to which mules adorned with gold & heads of deers & lions were hitched & proceeded to the western gate of Lankā where mighty Hānuman was stationed. As he moved forward, birds of ill omen in sky obstructed the advancing demon & wind with noise resembling thunder blew adversely. Seeing this he became perturbed but still moved forward eager to enter into combat. He was greeted by a sea of Vānaras protected by Rām

Death attracted Dhumraksha, like a magnet pulls iron

Sometimes we forget the futility of our efforts & we keep on doing the same mistakes one after the other. If Indrajit couldn’t kill how Rāvan expected Dhumraksha to do any damage? Hoping against hope & not learning from situation causes more harm than good. Taking stock of the situation & modifying response takes courage but falling in a trap is easy

Commonsense is not so common. An uncluttered mind free of false ego can see the obvious. Any learning or skills is of no use unless one is devoid of common sense to apply it
